What rank will I join at?

It all depends. If you join as a commissioned officer, you will start out at Ensign or Second Lieutenant. If you start out as enlisted personnel, you will start out at Crewman Recruit or Private. You might also be able to transfer your rank from an existing fleet or based on passed experience, to request this contact the Chief of Fleet Operations

What race may my character be?

Your character may be any Star Trek race seen on the TV shows. However, you may not join as a character with "Q" powers. You may have an ex-Borg character as long as you do not go around trying to assimilate people. You may be able to create your own hybrid-type character with permission from the Chief of Fleet Operations. Once you join, it is suggested that you create a bio for your character, this is required for promotions past the rank of Commander or Lieutenant Colonel.

When will I get promoted?

Promotions up to the rank of Commander or Lieutenant Colonel are at the discretion of the Commanding Officer of your ship. Any promotions to Commander or Lieutenant Colonel or above are at the discretion of the Gamma Fleet Deputy Commander in Chief, Chief of Fleet Operations, and your Division Commander.

Why can't I be at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer or Sergeant Major, too?

Only two people may hold the ranks of Master Chief Petty Officer or Sergeant Major. These two people advise all Naval (MCPO) and Marine (SMAJ) enlisted personnel within the Task Force on enlisted matters such as career advancement, etc. They also advise the Administration and Command Staff on enlisted morale, relations, etc.

What if I cannot post for an extended period of time due to real life commitments, or if I can no longer play?

We ask that you E-Mail your vessel's Commanding Officer and let them know your situation before hand. If that is not possible please do so immediately when you return, or during your leave. If you can no longer play, please submit your resignation to your vessel's Commanding Officer, Division Commander, and the Chief of Fleet Operations.

Can I have more than one character on more than one Sim?

Yes, as long as there is a separate E-Mail address for each character, there is no problem. However, these characters will start out as new (as far as rank/status goes) unless previous arrangements are made.
