From beyond the doors of the Shuttlebay, sounds could be heard in the corridors. By the noises coming through, it was obvious to everyone on the Flight Deck that the Deltaurans were on their way. Rex looked at the faces of the Marines using the cargo containers as cover, and saw uncertainty in their eyes.

MGen Alderez: Listen up! Don't worry about collateral damage! These weapons cannot harm anything that's not in the same realm as the damn things! As soon as they enter, open fire!

The General took aim with his Phaser Rifle at the doorway where the noises were coming from and waited for the Deltaurans to tear their way through. What surprised Rex was how they did not rip through the closed doors to the Shuttlebay, they simply passed through doors like they were not even there!

MGen Alderez: They're phasing through the doors! Shoot! Shoot! SHOOT!!!

Rex jumped out from where he was hiding and opened fire with his Phaser Rifle. The Deltauran that took the direct hit was immediately obliterated into what looked like metallic particles. Seeing that the weapon worked, the Marines jumped out from their hiding spots and began the obliteration process of each and every Deltauran Warrior that entered the Shuttlebay. The retaking of Oriskany had begun.

As MGen Alderez opened fire on the Deltaurans entering the Shuttlebay, Chris did the same and ordered the rest of the Marines to follow suit.

1Lt. Lopez: KILL 'EM!! KILL 'EM ALL!!!

The 1st Lieutenant jumped out from behind the cargo container and started blasting every Deltauran he could hit with his modified Phaser Rifle. He felt pleased about every single one of them he obliterated from Oriskany's Flight Deck.

Quickly following 1Lt. Lopez, Tony readied his Phaser Rifle and began firing at the Deltaurans that were coming into the Shuttlebay from the different doors that led to the Flight Deck.

2Lt. Parra: I'm with you, Sir!

The young Lieutenant was very happy to see the Deltaurans turning to dust as the modified beams of energy struck their bodies. This meant the new weapons were working exactly as they were designed.

Gunnery Sergeant Arbor aimed his weapon at the Deltauran intruders and opened fire as he ran out from behind the cargo containers. He was beyond thrilled to see their bodies turning to metallic ash as they were hit by the blasts from the Phaser Rifles.

GSgt Arbor: Yes! Let's clean out Oriskany!

The Sarge continued blasting at every Deltauran he could see phasing through the doorways.

Sgt Hicks: I'm with you, Sarge! Let's get 'em!

Hicks, along with Pvts Crowe, Frost, and Wierzbowski flanked GSgt Arbor as the opened fire together on the entrance to the Flight Deck on the farside of the Shuttlebay.

LCpl Drake: Hey Vaz, you with me!?!

Pvt1 Vasquez: Let's rock!

Drake and Vasquez stood together and continued firing at the closer entrance as Deltaurans started to realize they were vulnerable to the weapons that were being used against them.

Cpl Dietrich: Hudson, get those doors open before they start falling back!

LCpl Hudson: I'm on it!

Hudson slung his rifle and ran to the terminal at the side of the Shuttlebay and used the override commands to open the doorways to the Flight Deck so that they could continue exterminating the Deltaurans in the corridors outside the Shuttlebay.

Pvt1 Spunkmeyer: Hey Ferro! You're missing all the fun out here! Hurry up or there won't be any left for you to kill!

The Private 1st Class waited on Sgt Ferro to leave the ISSCV cockpit and rush out with her weapon blazing on the Deltaurans she got clean shots at.

Sgt Ferro: Thanks, Danny! I sure don't want to miss any paypacks on these assholes! I just had to let Infiniti know that the weapons are working perfectly and Oriskany will be Intruder-Free real soon.

The Sergeant and PFC were normally the flight crew of the ISSCV, but there were times they got to be part of the assault, and they were very happy to do so. The Deltaurans most certainly did not have any allies amongst Infiniti's crew.

Starboard Corridor - Deck 22

The Lieutenant continued to fire his weapon and enjoyed the sight of the Deltaurans the plasma blasts struck and distrupted the molecules of as they dematerialized right before his eyes. Chris knew the other Marines were just as thrilled as he was with this new weapon that was created to defeat these horrid creatures.

1Lt. Lopez: Let's give these bastards some payback!

Chris charged forward, bringing himself closer to where the Deltaurans were retreating from the assault. The MDC wanted to get Oriskany free from the infestation that caused it's crew to evacuate and abandon their ship. 1Lt. Lopez never had to abandon a vessel he served on before, but he knew it had to be a gut wretching thing for a crew to do because of hostile intruders boarding their ship.

Port Corridor - Deck 22

Continuing down the corridor from Oriskany's Shuttlebay, GSgt Arbor fired his weapon at every Deltauran he laid eyes on. When the plasma beams hit the fierce creatures they were immediately vaporized. The weapon was a dream come true in the fight against these deadly beings.

GSgt Arbor: General Alderez! You guys sure know how to design a weapon! This is the best gift a Marine can get! What a Christmas this turned out to be!

The Sergeant laughed as he continued vaporizing the retreating Deltaurans down the corridor. It wouldn't be long before Oriskany would be cleared out from the horrid beasts and the crew would be returning to take the ship home for repairs.

Rex smiled at GSgt Arbor's comment while he continued his way down the corridor, targeting Deltaurans and obliterating them. He was rather fond of the weapon as well since it was working exactly as designed.

MGen Alderez: We aim to please, Sergeant!

The General tapped his Combadge.

MGen Alderez: Alderez to Infiniti. We're obliterating the Deltaurans in the corridors that tried to ambush us in the Shuttlebay on Deck 22. Are there anymore concentrated areas of the ship the Deltaurans are still inhabiting?

Rex continued using his modified Phaser Rifle on every Deltauran he could see as they continued through the corridor. It wouldn't be long before there wouldn't be anymore Deltaurans aboard Oriskany.

Peter Graham, who came out of hiding after seeing the effects of the weapon on the Deltaurans, stood close to the General and was firing away. Obliterating Deltaurans whenever they dared to challenge the success of the new weapon. Even though the Lieutenant knew that the General was perfectly capable of fending for himself. he felt it important to protect the Marines leader. Maybe I just feel safer with an authorative and charismatic figure? he thought to himself. He was about to ask the General where they were headed next when he heard him use his Combadge.

The General took a moment out of obliterating the Deltaurans that were in the corridor to hear the response coming from USS Infiniti. Rex was pleased with the prompt reply from the Ensign.

Ens DeGrazzio: General, they appear to be fleeing from your vacinity and heading for the Engineering area. Even the ones in the saucer section are heading that way. According to the sensors, they're in the process of opening one of the doorways to their realm right there in Oriskany's Engineering!

A look of frustration appeared on the General's face as he addressed all the Marines.

MGen Alderez: Marines! We got them on the run! Head for Main Engineering and take out as many of them as you can! Let's move!
You too, Mr. Graham.

Rex couldn't help but notice that Lt. Graham had been sticking with him since they left the Shuttlebay. He knew the Lieutenant was a little taken back by all that was happening around them, but being in close proximity to the General gave him the necessary valor to hold his ground with the rest of the Marines.

Peter answered with some uncertainty in his voice as he did not know how to properly address him. Neither did he know who was running the operation. It was his ship but it was the Marines' task to save the day. he pondered a moment, decided to follow the General on this one and then took his own initiative which direction to go.

Lt. Graham: Aye Sir!

Graham knew they had to go through the Jefferies Tubes to go up to Deck 16, where Main Engineering was.

We could have used the Turbolift, or the Personnel Transporters on this deck, but no...safety first. he thought as he unbolted the hatch to the Jefferies Tube. Putting it aside he climbed in and started the long journey up the stairs.

Peter Graham was not the type you would think to be scared, but he did like to know that there were some certainties in life. He therefore had no trouble being the first in the dimly lit, small area as long as he knew someone was covering his back.

Seal after seal was opened while the yellow lights flashed on occasion and here and there the creaking of the unmanned Oriskany could be heard as the Lieutenant continued his journey from Deck 22 towards Deck 19.
