LtCol Carrera acknowledged Capt Marino as he contacted MCpt Vansen to enhanced their mission parameters regarding the protection of the Away Team aboard the SS Oruga. Rafo knew the Wildcards were more than ready for the task.

Lt. Colonel Carrera: Yes, Captain. Queen 6 to Queen of Diamonds. There's an Away Team aboard the SS Oruga, keep the parameter secure and alert me should anything be detected in your area.

With the new instructions given, LtCol Carrera kept his eyes on his console. Rafo made sure he kept all five SA-43X Hammerheads on his screen as they moved in positions that surrounded the abandoned vessel the Away Team was aboard. Rafo was confident the Wildcards had Cmdr Kee, LtCmdr Joffee, LtCmdr D'Shoua, Counselor Elbrun and Dr. Jovic quite protected from whatever might intrude into the vicinity.

Kestra searched her feelings and could sense the mind of a very frightened person, possibly a child, hiding inside the Main System Display console! The Counselor walked quietly over to the console and pointed to show Cmdr Kee that somebody was hiding behind the MSD console. She crouched down to the vent where the small person must've passed through and spoke gently.

Lt. Commander Elbrun: Hello in there...my name is Kestra...I'm here with my friends to help you. Can you please come out of there so we can examine you? We have a Doctor with us who will be more than happy to help.

As the Counselor got down on her knees, she heard noises of movement behind the enormous console. The shuffling sounds came to the opening of the vent and Kestra saw the small fingers of a child pushing the cover open and slowly crawled out. The child was a dark skinned human female approximately eleven years of age. The girl looked terrified as she slowly came to Kestra's open arms.

Lt. Commander Elbrun: You're safe now honey, what's your name?

Dorothy Ramsey: My name...is...Dorothy Louise Ramsey...my friends call me Tootie...

Kestra smiled and gave the girl a hug to ensure that she was safe.

Lt. Commander Elbrun: My name is Kestra and I'm your friend, Tootie. I'm going to hold you while Dr. Jovic scans you with her Medical Tricorder to see if you're alright. Is that okay?

Tootie nodded in a shy manner and the Counselor motioned for the Doctor to approach and do a Medical scan of the young trembling child. Kestra could tell that Tootie had been through a lot and had been dealing with being alone for quite some time. As far as the Counselor could tell, the girl felt her family was dead.

The Doctor moved slowly over to the child Kestra was holding and took out her Medical Tricorder and introduced herself to the youngling. Dragana didn't want Tootie to be frightened of her as she scanned the child for the status of her health.

Cmdr Jovic: Hello Tootie, my name is Dragana. I'm a Doctor and I'm here to help you. I'm going to use my Tricorder to make sure you're alright. Will that be okay?

After Tootie nodded, Dr. Jovic began scanning the child and retrieving her vital statistics. There was nothing seriously wrong with her to report, other than borderline malnutrition.

Cmdr Jovic: Looks like nothing more than being slightly malnourished, I believe she'll be fine after we get her back to the Sutherland.

The Doctor put together a vitamin nutrient combination into her hypospray and injected Tootie in her exposed shoulder so her body would have the nutrition it needed to help her vitals stabilize. Afterwards, she would just need a soft bed to sleep for a while and some food. Both of which Tootie would get when she was brought back to the Sutherland.

James was happy they found the young girl and went over to introduce himself to the child. He spoke in a very friendly manner as to not alarm her in any way, but possibly get information from her.

Cmdr Kee: Hi Tootie, my name is James. I'm the leader of this Away Team. This is Jared, our Security/Tactical Officer and over there is Michael, our Science Officer. We're all here to help you. Is there anyone else here hiding on the Oruga with you?

Tootie shrugged her shoulders, indicating that she had no idea. The XO wasn't sure if others were hiding and they just didn't know of anyone else was hiding on the ship with them.

Cmdr Kee: Do you know where your parents are? Do you have any brothers or sisters?

The young girl shook her head as she pointed over two grotesque Flesh Pods over by the Engineering Console.

Dorothy Ramsey: My parents are over there, I don't have a brother or sister. It's just me now.

Tears rolling down her cheeks finalized the Commander's questioning. He tapped his Combadge and called out to the Sutherland.

Cmdr Kee: Kee to Sutherland! Captain, we found a survivor! She's a human child, approximately eleven years old. Request we beam her over to Sickbay for some rest while we continue our search for more survivors.

The XO stood there with a smile on his face as he waited to hear back from the Sutherland. He as sure the Captain would approve of transporting Tootie back to the ship. As James waited, he checked his PADD for the name of the girl and see who she was associated with. Tootie was listed as the daughter of the ship's Navigator and Helm Officers. He looked over at the Flesh Pods and winced at what the poor child must've witnessed. It really was a shame what happened to all these people.

Lou heard the XO call out from the SS Oruga and immediately responded to him, as well as gave LtCmdr Boffi orders and informed Lt. Panettiere and Alex Windsor where he wanted to meet them.

Capt Marino: Permission granted, Commander. Mr. Boffi, lock on to that child and beam her directly to Sickbay.

The Captain tapped his Combadge to continue...

Capt Marino: Yeoman Panettiere and Mr. Windsor, meet me in Sickbay.

The CO turned to LtCmdr Boffi, seated at the Ops Station...

Capt Marino: Mr. Boffi, you have the Bridge.

Lou rose from the Captain's Chair and went to the Turbolift and headed for Sickbay on Deck 12 to meet the survivor the Away Team found. He expected to find the Yeoman and Alex there when he arrived.

Using the Ops Console, Michaelangelo scanned for the child and separated her lifesigns from the rest of the Away Team. LtCmdr Elbrun was holding the young girl in her arms, which would make beaming the child over to Sutherland a bit difficult. LtCmdr Boffi contacted the Away Team to let them know he was ready to transport the survivor to Sickbay and for them to stand clear.

Lt. Commander Boffi: Sutherland to Away Team. Ready to beam survivor directly to Sickbay. Stand clear, please.

The Chief Ops Officer waited to hear back from the Away Team that they were clear of the child so the transportation process could begin. As soon as he did, Michaelangelo would beam the survivor to Sickbay where he was sure Capt Marino had some questions for her.

James took a few steps back and encouraged both Dr. Jovic and Counselor Elbrun to do the same. As soon as they did and Tootie was standing clear of everyone, the XO notified LtCmdr Boffi she was ready.

Cmdr Kee: She's clear, Sutherland! Energize!

The XO smiled at the young girl as she dematerialized in front of him to the safety of Sutherland's Sickbay. Now they could continue their search for any more survivors with the Counselor's assistance. It only took an expressive look from James for Kestra to realize what was expected of her.

The Yeoman heard the Captain give the order to meet him in Sickbay, so he got up from behind the Counselor's desk where he was going over the manifests of the abandoned vessels and collected Alexander Windsor. The two of them took the Turbolift up to Deck 12 and walked quickly to Sickbay. Upon entering, they saw the Medical Staff preparing for an arrival. Jansen looked over towards Alex and spoke to him quietly.

Lt. Panettiere: My guess is that the Away Team found a survivor. Maybe it's somebody you're familiar with?

While the Lieutenant waited for Alex to respond, they stayed out of the way of the doctors and nurses preparing for the survivor's arrival. The Captain would be arriving soon, Jansen figured they would know more after he entered Sickbay. Until then, they had to be patient and wait for whomever was beaming directly here from the SS Oruga.

Mr. Windsor nodded to Lt. Panettiere in agreement to what he said about a survivor coming aboard. Alex just wasn't sure he would know the person since he had no idea what vessel the Away Team was aboard. He would definitely know soon enough when the survivor arrived.

Alexander Windsor: I won't know till they're beamed aboard. But if I do, I'll certainly let you know if I recognize them.

The young Mission Specialist waited alongside the Yeoman for the person from the abandoned vessel to materialize in Sickbay. Alex knew Capt Marino would be here in a matter of moments so if he could tell him what ship the Away Team was on, he'd have a better idea if he knew anyone on it.

Lou walked into Sickbay and saw the Yeoman and Mr. Windsor waiting on the Captain to arrive.

Capt Marino: I'm here! The reason I called you to join me is we have found a child survivor and she's eleven years old. Her name is Dorothy Louise Ramsey, but goes by Tootie. She was found on the SS Oruga.

The CO continued with giving the young Yeoman and even younger Mr. Windsor their orders for this situation.

Capt Marino: Lieutenant Panettiere, I'd like you and Mr. Windsor to see if you can get more info from Tootie about her parents about any more survivors. I think she would open up to someone closer to her own age. Let her get some rest, find out what she wants for food, make sure she gets it. When shes rested, go find out what activities she likes to do. Yeoman, I'm trusting you to keep an eye on her. Mr. Windsor, you will assist Jansen.

The Captain stood there with Lt. Panettiere and Mr. Windsor and waited for Tootie to arrive. He heard that she was in good health primarily and just needed some decent food and a lot of comfortable rest. Lou knew both of those could be provided by Jansen and Alexander.
