USS Event Horizon - Bridge - Deck 1

Ajay smiled at the joke Capt Little made about using Impulse Engines in Space Dock as he powered up the maneuvering thrusters, then released the docking clamps, retracted the Gangway and had the umbilicals removed. Event Horizon was now at station keeping in its berth awaiting clearance to the Space Doors.

Lt. Commander Centares: We're at station keeping, Captain. We just need clearance to the Space Doors, Sir.

The Chief Flight Control Officer whispered over to Lt. Mitchell...

Lt. Commander Centares: That's you, Cole.

Ajay winked at the Chief Operations Officer so he knew it wasn't a reprimand in any way. The Lieutenant Commander waited patiently for Lt. Mitchell to contact Spacedock Traffic Control so they could get clearance to the Space Doors. After that Ajay would use the thrusters to move them from their berth and through the giant doors that lead out to space, the final frontier.

Cole shook himself back into reality when he heard LtCmdr Centares mention his name. He had been daydreaming of their upcoming mission to an alternate reality and seeing what he would be like there. It was certainly an interesting prospect to think about. The Lieutenant contacted Spacedock Traffic Control to get the clearance needed to the Space Doors as instructed.

Lt. Mitchell: Spacedock Traffic Control, this here is Event Horizon. We're requesting clearance to the Space Doors.

After a few short moments, the Bridge could hear the response.

SB-34 Traffic Control: Event Horizon, you are cleared to Space Doors. Bon Voyage!

Cole smiled as he looked back over to LtCmdr Centares.

Lt. Mitchell: You're turn, Sir.

The Lieutenant monitored the Operation Console, making sure all was running well. Since it was, he just relaxed and enjoyed the image of the interior of Spacedock along with the Workbees and Engineering Personnel in Environmental Suits working on the exterior of the USS Whitestar. Cole was going to miss that ship while he was gone, and Capt Adonis even more. He didn't even have the opportunity to say goodbye to his former Captain before he died.

Ajay nodded to the Lieutenant and used the Maneuvering Thrusters to reverse the ship out of the berth and slowly rotated it in the direction of the Space Doors. As they slowly moved forward, they reached the lighted pathway which lead to the giant monolith sized doors. LtCmdr Centares engaged the forward thrusters and began moving towards the doors as they lit up with their clearance markers and slowly parted.

Lt. Commander Centares: We'll be exiting Spacedock in 45 seconds, Captain.

SB34-Com: Space Doors are open!

With the doors fully opened, Event Horizon easily passed through the opening designed for much larger vessels. As they moved further away from the gateway of SB34's Spacedock, it was time to engage the Impulse Engines until they reached the outer markers that surrounded SB34's Approach Control Space. Ajay just needed the word from Capt Little to do so...
