Whitestar’s Yeoman walked down the corridor to introduce himself to the Administrative Assistant to Adm Arayuss and the other Flag Officers, RAdm Martinelli, MGen Alderez and Como Carpathia. Luis smiled as he approached the desk and figured that since she called him by name, she most likely already knew who he was. But being raised to always be polite and the fact that Lt. JG Russ was a superior officer Ens Garcia introduced himself properly.

Ens Garcia: Hello, I am Ensign Luis Garcia, Yeoman of USS Whitestar. I am here to see Admiral Arayuss and escort our new Commanding Officer to our ship.

The Ensign was nervous meeting with the CinC, plus he had no idea who his new CO was going to be. Luis really hoped the encounter with the Admiral was going to go well and meeting the Captain for the first time would go equally as well. The Lieutenant JG was sitting in her chair looking content, like she was really pleased with the news of Capt Zh’Osha being replaced. Luis never met that Captain due to him not being assigned to Whitestar as of yet and for that he felt fortunate. Who knows how rudely she would have been to him…

Andrea looked up and smiled as she spoke to Ens Garcia and welcomed him to the Admiral's office while they waited for the arrival of Capt Daqtorgh. After greeting the young Ensign, the Lieutenant JG would let Adm Arayuss know the Yeoman of Whitestar was here and waiting to meet with him.

Lt. JG Russ: Hello Ensign Garcia. I'll let the Admiral know you're here. He should be with you in a few moments.

Watching the Yeoman take a seat in the reception area across from her desk, Andrea contacted the Admiral to let him know the Ensign was here.

Lt. JG Russ: Admiral? Ensign Luis Garcia, Yeoman of Whitestar is here to see you as ordered, Sir.

The Administrative Assistant waited to hear the response from the CinC before sending Ens Garcia in to speak with Adm Arayuss. The youngster sitting in the chair looked fidgety while waiting to see the Admiral, but she knew he was going to be fine, especially after he saw the CinC's physical appearance. Even though he looked to be a Romulan/Betazoid child, he was still the top authority in Gamma Fleet. A person everyone respected, except for perhaps Capt Zh'Osha who had an attitude that she was superior to everyone. Boy was she wrong!

The Admiral was pleased to hear the Yeoman from Whitestar had arrived. This way, when Capt Daqtorgh arrived, the Ensign would be able to escort the Captain back to Whitestar and get him settled in. Aeryck responded to the Administrative Assistant immediately so she could send Ens Garcia into his office where they would wait for Capt Daqtorgh together.

Adm Arayuss: Send him in, Andrea!

The CinC waited for the Yeoman to enter his office and while doing so checked on the location of the USS Rio Grande, which was the Runabout bringing Capt Daqtorgh to SB34 from DS9. From the long range sensor display on his desk terminal, Aeryck could see the ship was roughly an hour away. This would give Adm Arayuss some time to get to know Ens Garcia before the Captain arrived.

The Lieutenant JG remained smiling when she heard back from the CinC and motioned for the Yeoman to go ahead and enter the Admiral's Office. Being her professional self, Andrea spoke to the Ensign in an official capacity.

Lt. JG Russ: Ensign Garcia, Admiral Arayuss will see you now.

The Administrative Assistant continued smiling as she watched the Yeoman enter the Office of the Commander in Chief with serious trepidation in his steps. It reminded Andrea of when Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion walked into the audience chamber of the Great Wizard of Oz for the first time. The Lieutenant JG knew the Ensign would be fine, he just needed to relax and be himself.

The Yeoman slowly entered the Office of the Commander in Chief and was totally surprise by what he saw! There was a young boy sitting behind the desk! He had blond hair and pointed ears like a Romulan but eyes like a Betazoid! What was even more amazing was that he was wearing a Starfleet Admiral’s uniform! Luis wondered if this was some kind of prank, a type of hazing done to young officers on their first mission out in space. The Ensign did not want to appear disrespectful, just in case this was the actual CinC, so he addressed him politely.

Ens Garcia: Admiral Arayuss? I am Ensign Luis Garcia, Yeoman of USS Whitestar. I have come as ordered, Sir.

The Ensign stood there quietly and waited for the Admiral to address him. Luis remained at parade rest as he took glances around the office, looking for any photos on the desk or walls that may show if the person in front of him was truly Admiral Arayuss. What was noticeable was the model of an Intrepid Class Starship on the corner of the desk, the name and registry was USS Explorer NCC-74659. Luis heard of this ship, it was the one that returned from the Andromeda Galaxy with alien technology that allows it to travel great distances and other classified features!

The CinC stood up from behind the desk and walked around it to shake hands with the young Ensign that entered his office. Aeryck was able to sense the Yeoman’s confusion regarding his appearance and wanted to put Ens Garcia at ease, starting with his stance.

Adm Arayuss: You can relax, Ensign. I am indeed, Admiral Arayuss. It is a pleasure to meet you. As you know, Whitestar is getting a new Commanding Officer. Captain Daqtorgh will be here very soon, he is on his way from Deep Space Nine right now. Once I brief him on what else needs to be repaired on the ship, it will be your job to escort him back to the Spacedock and get him settled aboard Whitestar.

The Admiral motioned for the Yeoman to take a seat on the sofa along the wall of his office where he could wait for Capt Daqtorgh to arrive in the Office of the Commander in Chief. Aeryck did not come out and tell Ens Garcia that his new CO was a Klingon. The CinC thought it would be a fun surprise for the Ensign to discover the Captain’s heritage completely through his own observations.

The Ensign smiled at Adm Arayuss as he shook hands and then walked over to the sofa and took a seat. Luis was really curious about who the new Captain was going to be and could not wait to meet him. The Yeoman never heard the name Daqtorgh before, so he was unsure of its origin. Luis really hoped it was not another Aenarian since he heard from others how rude they were towards people they felt were inferior. The Ensign was also curious about the vessel the model was of on the CinC’s desk…

Ens Garcia: Admiral, I have heard of the USS Explorer before. That it returned home from the Andromeda Galaxy. You have the model on your desk, have you ever seen the real ship in person?

Luis waited on the Admiral to reply on whether or not he actually got to see the USS Explorer in person before. The Ensign heard so many stories about Explorer and that ship’s adventures from the cadets at the Academy while he was there. The Yeoman was really curious to hear about what stories the Admiral knew of since he must also know of the ship because he had a model of it on his desk. Luis figured since they had time before the Captain arrived, talking about Explorer would be a good way to pass the time.

While the Admiral and Ens Garcia discussed the marvels of USS Explorer, Andrea could see a large Klingon Warrior stepping out of the Turbolift way down the corridor. Unlike the Yeoman, the Captain walked down to her reception desk in front of the CinC's Office with confidence in his stride. When Capt Daqtorgh reached her desk, she immediately extended a welcome to the Captain.

Lt. JG Russ: Welcome to Starbase 34, Captain Daqtorgh! It's an honor to meet you. The Admiral is expecting you, I'll let him know you've arrived.

Tapping the Companel on her desk, she called to Adm Arayuss and let him know the Klingon Captain was here.

Lt. JG Russ: Admiral, Captain Daqtorgh is here! Shall I send him in?

Not knowing if the Admiral was ready to see the Captain yet gave her pause from just allowing Capt Daqtorgh to enter the Office of the Commander in Chief. Andrea didn't know if Adm Arayuss was still talking to Ens Garcia and they needed to conclude their conversation before speaking with the Captain. So the Lieutenant JG waited to hear back from Adm Arayuss before sending Capt Daqtorgh into his office.

The Klingon Captain entered the reception area of the Commander in Chief's office and looked down at the Lieutenant JG with a polite yet stern smile on his face.

Capt Daqtorgh: Reporting as ordered to see Admiral Arayuss to report as Commanding Officer of USS Whitestar. It's a pleasure to meet you Lieutenant. I have heard of the previous Captain's libations, I can assure you my attention isn't to Bloodwine but to Honor, Duty and Loyalty to the crew. I look forward to meeting and working with members of the crew to get the mission at hand done.

Daqtorgh stood at parade rest awaiting to see the Admiral. The Captain knew nothing of Adm Arayuss so this was going to be a blind meeting for the both of them. The Klingon Captain enjoyed working with all the many races in the Federation, so he had no reason to have any reservations with the upcoming meeting.

While Adm Arayuss was discussing his history aboard the USS Explorer with Ens Garcia, Aeryck heard the voice of Lt. JG Russ over the intercom that Capt Daqtorgh had arrived and was waiting to meet with him. The CinC tapped the Companel in order to respond to his Administrative Assistant.

Adm Arayuss: Thank you, Andrea! Please send the Captain into my office. We are ready to meet with him.

The Admiral wrapped up the conversation with Ens Garcia regarding his friendship with Explorer and the time they spent together returning from the Andromeda Galaxy. Together they waited for Capt Daqtorgh to enter the CinC's office and greet them both.
