Bridge - Deck 1

Thom jumped up from his chair with newly found excitement when he heard the news from Lt. Mitchell! The message Jayden worked on was received and a rescue was underway! The XO wasn’t sure who was aboard Explorer and what the rescue would entail, so the best way to handle that was to acknowledge the hail from the CinC’s vessel! With a large amount of excitement in his voice, Thom called out to the Lieutenant to open the hailing frequency to Explorer.

Cmdr Cypher: By all means, Cole! Acknowledge Explorer immediately! Inform them of our situation and our plan to Auto Destruct Event Horizon! We need to perform an Emergency Transport of everyone aboard over to Explorer immediately! Can that be handle in the time we have allotted?

The XO hit the Companel again and addressed the crew once more with news that was much more festive!

Cmdr Cypher: Cypher to all hands! USS Explorer is here! Prepare for Emergency Beam-Out! Take what you can grab! Dr. Tudismaque, prepare to have the bodies of Professor Brewer and Jo’Kla ready to beam over as well. We’re not leaving anyone behind, alive or dead! We’ve got less than 3 minutes to get out of here so let’s get a move on if we want to live!

The Commander ran into the Ready Room and grabbed some personal effects of Capt Little's that he had on the desk and returned to the Bridge. Thom figured when the Chief Engineer from Oriskany regained a sense of normality, he would appreciate some of his personal items left of his time aboard Event Horizon. Looking around the Bridge, everyone seemed ready to be beamed off the doomed ship.

Cmdr Cypher: Cole! Inform Explorer we’re ready to get out of here! Energize!

The darkly lit interiors of Event Horizon disappeared around them and was replaced by the well lit Hanger Deck of Explorer where Thom took a quick survey of all the happy faces of the crew and saw that there was nobody missing. Everyone from Event Horizon was now aboard Explorer and together on the Hanger Deck. There was even 2 Cryo-Chambers which contained the bodies of Prof Brewer and Jo’Kla accounted for. Thom walked over and started giving hugs to all the members of the crew that had tears in their eyes with the joy of being rescued. The XO saved a really big hug for Jayden, to whom there would’ve been no rescue had it not been for his ingenuity with getting the TDD into functioning like a beacon.

Out in space, the Emerald Chain ships surrounded Event Horizon and much to their surprise were overtaken with the complete and udder destruction of the vessel! Over a dozen of their ships were immediately destroyed and several dozen were severely crippled. Event Horizon was no more, but the crew survived. Thom walked over to the BioBed that Capt Little was transported in and placed a hand on the Captain’s shoulder and whispered in his ear, We got them home, Captain. Rest well…
