Aeryck thought about what would happen to Eureka's CO position once Capt Sull was recuperated enough to want to be the Commanding Officer once again. But that would actually matter most on what Capt Sull wanted to do. The CinC smiled at Capt Bennet as he responded so she would know what to do when the time came.
Adm Arayuss:
Let us see what Captain Sull wants to do first before we worry about that, Captain. When Azeri wakes up, have her contact me and I will discuss it with her. That is the best answer I can give you at this time, Claire. We will know more after I talk with Captain Sull.
The Admiral heard the door chime and could sense it was VAdm Martinelli with some information that Tony was ready to burst into the Ready Room and announce to Aeryck!
Adm Arayuss:
Admiral Martinelli needs to speak with me about something urgent, standby Captain.
Tapping the mute button on the desk terminal, Aeryck muted the conversation between him and Capt Bennet so Adm Arayuss could let VAdm Martinelli know he could enter the Ready Room.
Adm Arayuss:
Come in, Tony!
The doors parted and the XO of Sutherland entered looking quite anxious! Aeryck thought it best to let Tony say what he needed to, instead of just reading the Vice Admiral's mind. As the Admiral waited to hear what Tony had to tell him, Aeryck could see the look of concern on Capt Bennet's face. The current CO of Eureka most likely could read the look of concern that Adm Arayuss had when VAdm Martinelli entered on the brink of an anxiety attack! _________________

Aeryck looked up at his friend Tony and shook his head in disgust. It was apparent the Xenomorphs now knew there was a concentration of escaping hosts for their face-hugging, embryo laying, creatures to impregnate the refugees so more Xenomorphs could be created. If they only knew their time on New Bajor would be coming to an end once the Admiral used the Genesis Device that was stored on the USS Explorer.
Adm Arayuss:
Well shit, we're going to need to beam up those refugees in a hurry and get Infiniti's people off of there! I feel we should get the lighter ships into the atmosphere as close as possible to the extraction site and beam up as many of those children as they can before moving onto the next ship to take on the task. I'll inform Eureka since their Captain is on the Com-Channel with me right now. As soon as Oriskany is done, we'll get Eureka and Infiniti down there. I'll be heading over to Explorer soon so I can close the chapter on this infestation. While I'm there, you'll be the Acting CO of Sutherland, Tony. I know it's been a long time since you've been in command of a Starship, but I have faith in you that you can handle saving as many refugees as this ship can carry. If there's any leftovers, I'll beam them aboard Explorer. Let's get moving on this, we don't have time for any delays. That would surely cost lives.
The Admiral waited to hear if VAdm Martinelli had anything to say back to him before returning to Capt Bennet, whose look of concern was getting stronger by the moment. Once Tony left the Ready Room, Aeryck would take the Captain of Eureka off mute and inform her of the situation. It would certainly appear that the California Class Starship would be taking on refugees a lot sooner than they had originally anticipated. _________________

While remaining behind the desk, Aeryck looked up at VAdm Martinelli and responded to what he asked the Admiral about what to do next. The best thing at this point would be for Tony to return to the Bridge and let the CO's of Infiniti and Oriskany know what is going on and what the overall plan was. As for Eureka, Aeryck would handle that himself since Capt Bennet was already on the viewscreen on the CO's desk. The Admiral could see that Claire was expressing a lot of concern over how Aeryck was looking as Tony informed him of the situation at the extraction site on New Bajor.
Adm Arayuss:
Tony, you should return to the Bridge and contact Commodore Carpathia and Captain Calzada and fill them in on what is going on at the extraction site and what our plan is to rescue the refugees and anyone else that needs to vacate the area before the Xenomorphs get there. I will fill in Captain Bennet as soon as you leave and get her up to speed. We really need to work fast if we want to save all of those people down there. I will be out there soon, and then I will be heading over to Explorer shortly afterwards. I need to prepare the Genesis Device for it to wipe out every living thing on that planet and replace it with new life. So be on your way, Admiral. I will get things sorted out with Eureka from here.
The CinC kept and eye on VAdm Martinelli and waited on him to acknowledge what his instructions were and to exit the Ready Room so they could both do their needed tasks. As soon as the Vice Admiral left, Adm Arayuss would unmute Capt Bennet and tell her the horrible news about the Xenomorphs being en route to the extraction site at a considerable speed. Then Aeryck would have to let the Captain know she would need to bring Eureka into the planet's atmosphere so it could be close enough to do massive amounts of beaming to get the refugees out of the area. It would only be a matter of moments before the Admiral would see how Claire would handle the stress of the situation. _________________

Tony nodded to Adm Arayuss, fully understanding what was expected of him. The Vice Admiral spoke aloud to the CinC so he would know Tony knew what was needed for him to do while on the Bridge.
VAdm Martinelli:
Understood, Sir! I'll get right on it! I believe by now, Oriskany should have their Holodecks at capacity, so I'll let Captain Calzada know to standby in orbit if needed. As for Infiniti, Commodore Carpathia will have to bring his ship down low enough to be able to beam up as many refugees as an Intrepid Class Starship can possibly hold. Between Eureka and Infiniti, if there are anymore leftover, I'll let you know to pick up whoever is leftover with Explorer. So without further delay, I'm on my way to the Bridge.
The Chief of Fleet Operations and XO of Sutherland turned and left the Admiral to do what he needed with Capt Bennet, as he quickly exited the Ready Room and entered the Bridge. Taking the CO's chair, Tony spoke out to the Ops Officer to let her know he wanted to hail Infiniti and Oriskany.
VAdm Martinelli:
Ensign Toretto, hail both Infiniti and Oriskany immediately!
The Chief Operations Officer immediately complied with the Vice Admiral's order and responded as a hail message went to both vessels orbiting New Bajor.
Ens Toretto:
Aye, Sir!
As Mia waited for Infiniti and Oriskany to reply to Sutherland's hail, she looked to see VAdm Martinelli sitting in the Captain's Chair. From what the Ensign understood regarding what MGen Alderez informed the Vice Admiral of, things were about to get even more serious than the way things already was. _________________

As VAdm Martinelli left Adm Arayuss alone in the Ready Room, Aeryck tapped the indicator on the screen of the monitor that Capt Bennet was on and unmuted the CO of the USS Eureka. The Admiral knew the Captain would not be pleased to hear about the oncoming horde of Xenomorphs rapidly approaching the extraction site, but Aeryck knew Claire needed to know.
Adm Arayuss:
Sorry about that, Captain. Admiral Martinelli has informed me that the Marine Detachment Wing that Captain Daqtorgh left behind to watch over the extraction site is about to be overrun with Xenomorphs! The Wildcards will be engaging them to prevent any from getting to the site, but those creatures are quite devious and will find a way to avoid the Hammerheads and get to the extraction area. The Marines from Infiniti will be the last line of defense once that happens. That's why I am authorizing atmospheric penetration for Eureka. You need to get the ship closer to the site and start beaming up refugees as soon as possible. Infiniti will be doing the same and I shall do the same aboard Explorer. Sutherland will also be going into the atmosphere as far as it can to assist with the evacuation. Once we've got everyone off there, I'll be sending the Genesis Device down there to eradicate the infestation. Since I will be aboard Explorer, Admiral Martinelli will be CO of Sutherland in my absence. Once I set the Genesis Device to detonate, we've got four minutes to leave the vicinity at Warp Speed to Starbase 34. We will all meet afterwards in my office for a debriefing. I look forward to meeting you in person and hearing first hand about the excitement of your first command.
The CinC waited for Capt Bennet to absorb all that was just uploaded to her before expecting a response. Aeryck knew this was going to take a lot of effort for Claire and her crew to be able to get as many refugees off New Bajor as they possibly could. The Admiral can see the look of concern and some confusion as Capt Bennet processed all she just assimilated from him. Aeryck knew she would have something to say in a matter of moments, so he waited silently for Claire to respond. _________________

Now that the channels were open to both Infiniti and Oriskany, Tony addressed Como Carpathia and Capt Calzada. Since Oriskany was beaming up refugees in a higher capacity, the Vice Admiral was sure they would be finished very soon.
VAdm Martinelli:
Vice Admiral Martinelli to Infiniti and Oriskany. There's a horde of Xenomoprhs rapidly approaching the extraction site, so we'll need to move quickly if we're going to save all of those children on the surface. Captain Calzada, as soon as your finished beaming up the last of the refugees your ship can handle, inform Commodore Carpathia so they can begin the atmospheric penetration process of getting down there and beaming up as many of the pre-screened refugees as they can. Eureka will be doing the same, as well as Sutherland, when the time comes. The Wildcards will be protecting the extraction site as best they can, so in the event Xenomorphs get by them, the Marines at the site itself will engage the infernal beasts. If there's any refugees leftover, Admiral Arayuss will pick them up with Explorer. Once all the children are safe, we're to leave the system as soon as possible and head for Starbase 34. Explorer will remain behind to use the Genesis Device and depart before it detonates. We can do this if we all work together, so let's get to it! That is all! Sutherland out!
There was no need for acknowledgements to be heard from either Como Carpathia or Capt Calzada. They were both excellent at what they did and would tackle the situation with the utmost resolve. Now they needed to wait for Oriskany to be done with their portion of the evacuation before Sutherland would be making their way through the storms in order to beam up refugees from the extraction site. Tony just had to warn LtCmdr Ellis in Main Engineering that Sutherland would need to penetrate the atmosphere amidst severe electrical storms. Tapping his Combadge, the Vice Admiral called out to the Chief Engineer.
VAdm Martinelli:
Martinelli to Lieutenant Commander Ellis! Make preparations for an atmospheric inversion! We need to get close enough to the surface so we can beam up refugees without relying on the Transporter Enhancers to make it possible! As you may know, there are severe electrical storms going on down there, so we'll have to keep ourselves steady and the refugees safe!
The XO was quite sure LtCmdr Ellis would be responding in a matter of moments to inform the Vice Admiral of the dangers of bringing a Nebula Class Starship into an atmospheric situation, let alone doing it while being engulfed in storms. Chief Engineers were always reminding the COs and XOs of their ships of either breaking the laws of physics or doing something that just shouldn't be done at all. But in this case, there were well over a thousand children down there that needed to be out of the extraction site immediately. VAdm Martinelli was not about to let anyone get left behind, that much Tony was absolutely sure of. _________________

As Aeryck was going over the manual for detonating the Genesis Device that was being provided by Explorer, a message came in through his Combadge from Ens Toretto on the Bridge at the Ops Station.
Ens Toretto:
Admiral? Eureka is hailing us! Captain Bennet wishes to speak to you, Sir! Should I put it through to the Ready Room for you?
Adm Arayuss:
That would be fine, Mia.
When Capt Bennet's image appeared on the Admiral's desk monitor, she looked to be quite excited. The image also showed Cmdr Sladek on the right and Capt Sull seated on the left. It was good to see Azeri mobile and on the Bridge.
Adm Arayuss:
How can I help you, Captain Bennet? It's good to see you on the Bridge, Captain Sull! How are you doing?
The CinC wondered about the reason Capt Bennet was asking to speak with him. With Capt Sull sitting there to Claire's left, Aeryck pondered if that was the reason for the communication. Adm Arayuss did suggest to Capt Bennet that Azeri should speak to him directly when she's awake, so this could be it. Perhaps Capt Sull was looking to take back command of Eureka. Aeryck did not like jumping to conclusions, so he just sat in the chair behind the CO's desk and waited for Capt Bennet to address him. _________________

Before LtCmdr Ellis reported in from Main Engineering, Ens Toretto reported that Infiniti had begun its descent to the extraction site. The Intrepid Class Starship was dropping at a steady rate, which was easy since it was designed for such things. Tony was somewhat concerned about Sutherland though, since it was not designed for atmospheric penetration at all.
Ens Toretto:
Admiral Martinelli, Infiniti has started its descent towards the planet's surface!
VAdm Martinelli:
Thank you, Ensign. Let me know when Infiniti is hovering above the extraction site.
Ens Toretto:
Aye, Sir!
The XO continued waiting on a communication from LtCmdr Ellis down in Main Engineering. Tony was quite sure David would quote every section of the Engineering Manual that mentioned taking a Nebula Class Starship into an atmosphere, being a downright bad idea. But as things were now, Sutherland didn't have much of a choice. Adm Arayuss gave his orders and that's what was going to happen, unless the CinC changed his mind. _________________
