Jaeson smiled at the thought of having others along for the trip home, he figured the more the merrier! Taking the PADD from Adm Arayuss, FAdm Skyner looked it over and nodded in affirmation at the promotion presented for his approval. Using his thumbprint, the Fleet Admiral signed off on the promotion and handed the PADD back to Adm Arayuss.
FAdm Skyner:
Here you go, Aeryck. I'm sure the promotion will come as a welcome surprise for this officer. I have no problem bringing them all back with me to Earth! The more the merrier, I always say! I'll be leaving on a Runabout in Bay 327 so be sure to have everyone who's going, sent over there as soon as possible.
The Commander in Chief of Starfleet Command shook the hand of Adm Arayuss one last time, then he began making his way to the Turbolifts. Once inside, he spoke out for the lift to take him to
Bay 327
so he could get ready to depart. The Professor's body in the chamber will be beamed directly into the interior of the rear of the Runabout, along with the BioBed Cmdr Little was on. Once everyone was aboard and they were cleared to launch, FAdm Skyner would pilot the Runabout back to Earth. There were already containers marked the Property of Dr. Sonny Brewer, so somebody was thoughtful enough to gather his things for him and send them over to the Runabout they'd be using. _________________

Chase watched as FAdm Skyner walked off to the Turbolift leaving Adm Arayuss and Dr. Brewer open for the Commander to go over and offer his condolences for the loss of Prof Brewer. The XO of Whitestar walked over to where the Admiral and Doctor were and expressed his sorrow for the loss of Dr. Brewer's brother, the Professor.
Cmdr Ashborn:
Admiral Arayuss, Dr. Brewer, I'd like to convey my deepest condolences for the loss of your brother, Doctor and your friend, Admiral. Professor Brewer was an excellent scientist and a true inspiration to all of us who benefited from his research into destroying the Deltaurans. I'd hate to think what would've happened to our galaxy had it not been for the Professor's research. I got word that you're returning to Earth with your brother and you're retiring from Starfleet. I really hate to see you go, Doctor. You've always been an excellent physician aboard Whitestar. But I understand your reason to retire and I wish you the very best.
The Commander shook the Doctor's hand for the last time as he said his final goodbye to his former Chief Medical Officer.
Cmdr Ashborn:
Goodbye, Sonny. I know for a fact that your presence will be missed by everyone aboard Whitestar. May your journey home be free of incident.
The Executive Officer of Whitestar smiled at both Adm Arayuss and Dr. Brewer before leaving them to their further discussion of the Doctor returning to Earth. Chase looked around for Ens Garcia and didn't see him anywhere in the Observation Lounge. The XO wondered if Capt Daqtorgh ordered him away from the celebration as well. It was actions like this that Chase felt he would be at odds with this Commanding Officer. Perhaps the Commander should start sending messages to the Admiral about getting the Captain replaced like he did with Capt Zh'Osha. Instead of a drunk on alcohol, now they had one who was drunk with power. Chase couldn't help but become depressed about the death of Capt Adonis. Treasar was an excellent CO that allowed his crew to have a good time while they were off duty. Chase really missed his friend and CO of Whitestar. The Commander really wondered if they were in for another nightmare with Capt Daqtorgh. For was it possible that they just went from the frying pan into the fire? _________________

Re-entering the Observation Lounge, the Captain saw Cmdr Ashborn standing with the other members of Whitestar's crew. Capt Daqtorgh motioned for Dr. Tudismaque and the Yeoman to join them. As Daqtorgh walked with the Doctor and Ens Garcia over to where the crew was, he whispered to Cmdr Ashborn.
Capt Daqtorgh:
When we're done here we have issues of personnel to discuss after the celebration, Commander.
Since Dr. Brewer was still seated with Adm Arayuss, Daqtorgh went over to express his condolences to the Doctor.
Capt Daqtorgh:
My condolences to you, Sir, to your family and from my House. Professor Brewer will be truly be missed, as will you when you return to Earth. But you will be with your family and that is the most important thing of all.
The Captain shook the Doctor's hand for the first and last time before rejoining the gathering of Whitestar personnel. Daqtorgh could see on their faces that they were not entirely comfortable around him and this troubled the Captain. The Klingon wasn't sure what to do about it either, but Daqtorgh knew they had to follow his orders and he was going to be the best Commanding Officer he could be. The House of tlhoqlw and the Captain's honor was on the line. Dishonor was something Daqtorgh just couldn't tolerate. _________________

The Admiral smiled at Dr. Tudismaque and nodded to the young Chief Medical Officer. Aeryck thought it was an excellent idea for Jacques to escort Sonny to Bay 327 so he could board the USS Rubicon. Adm Arayuss let Dr. Brewer know that Dr. Tudismaque would be escorting him and that this is where they would say their final goodbye. It was a tearful parting since neither of them knew if they would see each other again. Aeryck shook Jacques' hand and thanked him for his suggestion.
Adm Arayuss:
Thank you, Jacques. I am sure Sonny would love it if you escorted him to the Rubicon. I know he appreciates you having all of his things beamed to Bay 327 as well. The celebration will most likely still be going on so just come back here once the Runabout departs. So I will see you then.
The Commander in Chief of Gamma Fleet walked over towards RAdm Martinelli and smiled as he addressed the Rear Admiral, he had been doing his duty as Chief of Fleet Operations for quite a while here in Gamma Fleet without a promotion and now it was time!
Adm Arayuss:
Tony, I have some good news for you. I ran it by Fleet Admiral Skyner and he signed off on it, so I can officially notify you that you have been promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral! If you come down a little I will exchange the rank insignia on your collars and we can do the ones on your sleeves as well. Congratulations, Vice Admiral Martinelli!
As the newly promoted VAdm Martinelli bent over, Adm Arayuss exchanged the rank insignias on Tony's collars with the ones Aeryck had in his pocket that he had with him for quite a while since before Explorer returned with the crew of the Event Horizon. The CinC was hoping to have a word with FAdm Skyner about promoting VAdm Martinelli and now that it was official, it was a done deal. _________________

Jacques smiled to Adm Arayuss before he walked away, leaving the Lieutenant alone with Dr. Brewer. Together they walked to the Turbolifts and took one of them to Bay 327, where the USS Rubicon was sitting on a launchpad. Outside the Runabout were the containers Jacques packed for Dr. Brewer that were beamed here from the USS Whitestar. Together they put Sonny's boxes in the cargo hold of Rubicon so that they wouldn't be stacked on the inside where they would be in the way. Once completed, Jacques gave Dr. Brewer a huge hug and thanked him for being the best influence in his life.
Lt. Tudismaque:
Thank you for everything you've done for me, Dr. Brewer. It really means a lot to me to have spent time with you aboard Whitestar together and under your training have become a Chief Medical Officer. I will never forget you, Doc. I have been and always shall be, your friend.
After their embrace, Jacques let go of Dr. Brewer and watched him enter the Runabout, USS Rubicon. Dr. Tudismaque didn't know if he would ever see his friend again, so it brought tears to his eyes. The Lieutenant could see FAdm Skyner inside in the pilot's seat prepping the ship for departure as former Inquisitor Dak'Aar watched intently. Prof Brewer's chamber was already aboard Rubicon, as was the BioBed containing Cmdr Little. The Commander was heavily sedated for the trip back to Earth, to avoid any mishaps along the way. Jacques gave a thumbs up to Dr. Brewer, who could be seen through the window sitting in the cockpit with FAdm Skyner and waved a heartfelt goodbye to his mentor. Standing by the railing, Dr. Tudismaque watched the Runabout leave the launchpad and move outwards into the vast deep space of the universe.
Once they were a safe distance away, Rubicon jumped to Warp Speed and headed for the Denorios Wormhole where it would drop to Impulse and travel through to the Alpha Quadrant. From there it would continue back to Earth to where FAdm Skyner could resume his duties as Commander in Chief of Starfleet Command, Dr. Brewer would return to McDonough, Georgia and perform an autopsy before interring his brother into the family plot. Cmdr Little would be placed under the medical care he needs for his broken brain and where he would not be harmful to himself or anyone else. The former Inquisitor will finally get to see Orlando, Florida and enjoy all the fun the theme parks had to offer. They will have all reached their final destination, which was home. _________________

The newly promoted Vice Admiral was all smiles after standing up straight with his rank insignias changed out from his Rear Admiral ones he'd been wearing since his arrival in the Gamma Quadrant. Shaking the Admiral's hand profusely, Tony thanked Adm Arayuss for the promotion he put through to FAdm Skyner.
VAdm Martinelli:
Thank you so much, Admiral! This really means a lot to me! I wasn't sure if all my hard work was paying off, but now I know that is has been! Thank you so much, Sir!
After letting the Admiral's hand go, the Vice Admiral couldn't wait to show off his new rank insignias on his collars and sleeves to everyone else. First up was MGen Alderez, the Marine Force Commandant. Tony walked over to Rex and smiled while holding up his sleeves for the Major General to see.
VAdm Martinelli:
Hey Rex! What do you think? Does this suit me or what!?
While waiting to hear from MGen Alderez, the Chief of Fleet Operations looked around the Observation Lounge for Como Carpathia. That would be Tony's next target to show off his new promotion in front of. Even though it was a well established fact that the Commodore would've been promoted to Vice Admiral long ago if he accepted the promotions he had been offered. But Commodore was the highest rank a Starship Commander could be. After that rank came Rear Admiral, which from then on he would be sitting behind a desk for the rest of his career. But Como Carpathia did not want to give up Infiniti so promoting him just wasn't going to happen. E.J. was already in the position where he was happiest, so changing that was just not feasible. _________________
