Bridge - Deck 2

Marko heard what the Captain said and immediately put his display onto the Main Viewscreen for all to see superimposed over the field of stars they were moving through before they jumped to Warp Speed.

Ens Ramius: Aye, Captain! Instrumentation is being displayed on the Main Viewscreen now, Ma'am!

The instrumentation displayed nothing of interest as of yet, but the Ensign had a feeling that would change once Lt. Gutiérrez brought Eureka to Warp 6 per Cmdr Bennet's orders. Once they were on their way to SB34, Marko would broaden the range of the sensors that way if there was something going on out there, Marko was discover it on the sensors!

Hearing from Cmdr Bennet that it was officially time to engage the Warp Drive, Mateo did exactly that and brought Eureka to Warp 6 per the XO's orders by using the Flight Control Console. Since the course to SB34 was already set, all the Lieutenant had to do was tap the controls and off they went!

Lt. Gutiérrez: Warp Six engaged, Commander Bennet! We're on our way to Starbase 34, our ETA is eight hours and fifty seven minutes!

With the stars on the Main Viewscreen now appearing as streaks of light, it was obvious to everyone on the Bridge they were moving at Warp Speed. As Eureka moved at an accelerated velocity, it was clear by the display on the screen that was coming from the Ops Console that there was something going on in the Kotha Tremali system. Mateo looked over at Ens Ramius and waited for him to inform the CO and XO of what was going on over on the third planet in the system.

After Marko scanned the Kotha Tremali system to see what was going on and the Ensign learned the system was under strict quarantine! No ships were supposed to enter or leave the system by order of Adm Arayuss! That was all the warning stated, so Marko informed both Capt Sull and Cmdr Bennet was happening in the system where New Bajor was located.

Ens Ramius: There appears to be a quarantine in progress of the Kotha Tremali system! Admiral Arayuss put out the warning, but it doesn't state why...according to Long Range Sensor readings, all the ships in Gamma Fleet are above the third planet of the system, which according to Stellar Cartography is New Bajor!

The Chief Ops Officer turned and looked at Lt. JG Kaaha at the Sec/Tac Station. The Lieutenant JG was Bajoran himself, so Marko knew this would be perplexing to him. Everyone on the Bridge must be curious as to why an entire system was quarantined. Plus having all the ships of Gamma Fleet, Infiniti, Oriskany, Sutherland and Whitestar there was an extremely curious situation. There was even a mirror image of Infiniti very close to it which had the Ensign wondering what that was as well.

The Captain ran a hand through her hair.

Capt Sull: I just had to say it... Commander? Insight? Personally I think we should help out...

Azeri also turned in her chair ever so slightly towards the Operations console.

Capt Sull: Send out a wide band ping. Let them know we are in the area and ready if they require assistance. Set it on automatic repeat until it is answered.

Azeri knew the California Class vessel was no Heavy Cruiser, but they would assist in any way. They were, after all, still Starfleet officers.

Marko did as the Captain had ordered and sent a wide band ping towards the vessels over New Bajor, letting them know Eureka was in the area and ready to assist if needed. The Ensign set the message to repeat until they received a transmission from either Infiniti, Oriskany, Sutherland or Whitestar, regarding whether or not their assistance was needed.

Ens Ramius: Active ping sent, Captain! It's set to repeat until we receive a transmission from either Infiniti, Oriskany, Sutherland or Whitestar confirming whether or not our assistance is needed, Ma'am!

The Chief Ops Officer kept all hailing frequencies open for a response from the ships above New Bajor. Marko was understandably curious as to why such a quarantine was put in place around the Kotha Tremali system. Not to mention what would cause the presence of the 4 vessels of Gamma Fleet to be there.

As Claire nodded in agreement to Capt Sull, she took her seat on the Bridge as well. The Commander felt it was appropriate to see if the Admiral needed their assistance since Eureka was in the area.

Cmdr Bennet: I agree with you, Captain! We should alter course and head for the Kotha Tremali system and wait until we're given permission to enter, then orbit New Bajor and lend a hand if that's what the Admiral desires. What are your thoughts on that?

The XO looked over towards the Flight Control Station and could see that Lt. Gutiérrez was getting ready to alter the course of Eureka, he was just waiting on the order to do so. The Commander also gave a sympathetic look at Lt. JG Kaaha and wondered if he knew anyone in the colony on New Bajor.

Azeri nodded towards the XO.

Capt Sull: I think Lieutenant Gutiérrez has a lead boot he's itching to show us... Lieutenant Kaaha, should you wish to take some time, we will understand...

The Captain didn't believe that Lt. JG Kaaha would dismiss themselves but felt the offer was appropriate given the circumstances.

Capt Sull: Well then, I assume we can punch it, Commander...

The CO couldn't help but show a little excitement at getting the ship up to speed, something that ordinarily would never happen given the speed limits of the older ships of the fleet...

Claire smiled at the Captain as she gave the order to Lt. Gutiérrez to alter course to the Kotha Tremali system where New Bajor was located, along with the 4 ships of Gamma Fleet according to their transponders.

Cmdr Bennet: Mr. Gutiérrez, increase speed to Warp Eight and alter course to the Kotha Tremali system and come to a halt just outside the outer markers of the system, unless we receive word from someone on the inside giving us permission to enter to lend assistance.

The XO waited on seeing Eureka increase speed to Warp 8 and alter course towards New Bajor to see if they could lend a hand in whatever was happening there. They just needed to hear back from someone on the inside before they could enter the system.

Mateo did as Cmdr Bennet ordered and increased the speed of Eureka to Warp 8, as well as setting their course for the Kotha Tremali system. Moving at that velocity would bring them to the outer markers in just under an hour from their current position.

Lt. Gutiérrez: I've increased speed to Warp Eight and altered course on your orders, Commander! Our ETA to the Kotha Tremali system from our current location is fifty-seven minutes! If we don't hear word from any of the Federation vessels within there, I'll hold us at the outer markers, Ma'am!

The Lieutenant piloted Eureka to the location set by the Navigation System at the designated speed. Mateo looked over towards Ens Ramius with an expression of Have you heard anything yet? The Chief Flight Control Officer was really curious what was going on over New Bajor to warrant all the vessels of Gamma Fleet to be in a close orbit above the planet's capital city.

Marko closely monitored the communication channels for any kind of message from the Starships inside the Kotha Tremali system indicating whether or not Eureka could join them, or should they continue onto SB34. After several minutes had transpired, the Ensign looked over at Lt. Gutiérrez and shrugged his shoulders.

Ens Ramius: Nothing yet...

Just as the Ensign was responding to the Lieutenant, a text message returned back on the same channel Marko sent their message out on, but this was from Adm Arayuss aboard the USS Sutherland!

Ens Ramius: I've got a response from Admiral Arayuss! The message reads...Your assistance is appreciated, proceed as fast as possible to a geosynchronous orbit above New Rakantha! We are engaged in an emergency evacuation of the survivors of a Xenomorph outbreak!

The Chief Ops Officer waited to hear from either Capt Sull or Cmdr Bennet on what he should do next. Marko never heard of a Xenomorph before, so he was curious to know what an outbreak of something by that name could involve. Whatever it was, it required the evacuation of an entire colony, so it had to be something extremely serious!
