He took the PADD from Capt Carpathia and looked at the Yeoman he presented.
VAdm Arayuss:
Indeed I have.
He walked slowly around the two of them.
VAdm Arayuss:
With great detail.
He stopped directly in front of them.
VAdm Arayuss:
Crewman Recruit Panettiere, I have read your Captain's report, as well as viewed Infiniti's flight recorder. I find that you acted way beyond the confines of your current status. You showed accountabilty, bravery, and selflessness in the protection of Infiniti's crew. These are not the acts of a Crewman Recruit, I'm sorry to say.
He paused as he walked back to his desk and took a small box that he had by his console and returned to stand before the young Yeoman.
VAdm Arayuss:
These are the actions of a Starfleet Officer. I hereby grant you a field commission to the rank of Ensign, with all the priviledges and duties that come along with it.
He opened the box and removed the single gold pip and took the gray enlisted insignia off Panettiere's collar and placed the gold pip in it's place.
VAdm Arayuss:
Congratulations, Ensign Panettiere. On a job well done.
He took a step back and admired the look of surprise on the Ensign's face. Aeryck knew it wasn't everyday a low ranking enlisted crewman gets to make the jump to the entry rank of officer. But this person truly deserved it. _________________
