He blushed as Dr. Carter praised him with the words used to describe him.

Ens Panettiere: I'm very proud, and honored to be an officer aboard Infiniti.

He smiled at her, till her heard Dest'Ney's response. This confused him, he showered before he left Infiniti, and put a clean uniform on. He shouldn't appear funky, nor should the Captain. He wondered what she meant by that.

Bath'Ney responded quickly to the Captain to explain his daughter's response.

MCapt Bath'Ney: No, Sir. Funky is her greeting for everyone, even daddy is funky and so is mommy...and as for mood swings? Me? Surely not.

Bath?Ney looks down at the Yeoman.

MCapt Bath'Ney: Congratulations on the promotion, Ensign. You did very well and are very deserving of the rank. Welcome to the officers club.

He looked to both of them and nodded.

MCapt Bath'Ney: Well, we won't be keeping you from your meal. We have more shopping to do to get things to decorate of our quarters with on the ship.

He looked at Samantha.

MCapt Bath'Ney: No pink.

They excused themselves and walked off to continue their shopping. He had never seen the 2 bedroom quarters in an Intrepid Class starship before. Judging by the spacious single quarters he had, he figured the larger one would be even more exhilerating.

He sat back down, just as the waiter returned with their salads.

Mario: Here you go, Captain.

He placed the salad before him, and then placed the other bowl of salad in front of Ens Panettiere, and the plate of mozzerella sticks between them

Mario: Here you go, Sir. I'll be back with your the rest of your meal in a little while, enjoy your salads and appetizer.

The waiter moved off to take care of other tables, and left them to enjoy their food.

Capt Carpathia: This dressing is really good.

He savored each bite as he ate the salad.

He sat when the Captain did, and thought it was pretty cool that Bath'Ney brought his family over to meet them. He mixed the salad around with his fork to make sure there was dressing on every bite. Then tasted it, and raised his eyebrows at the delightful zest of the dressing.

Ens Panettiere: It sure is. I wonder how good these are?

He took a cheese stick and dunked it into the small bowl of sauce in the center and took a bite. He liked the taste of these too.

Ens Panettiere: Oh these are great, try one Sir.

He continued eating his salad, drinking his water and occasionally devouring another cheese stick.

He tried one of the cheese sticks the Ensign offered and the little guy was right, they were delicious. Together they ate their salads and the cheese sticks till they were gone. He was still hungry and hoped the lasanga would be there soon. As he waited for his main course to arrive, he continued with the idle chatting.

Capt Carpathia: What is your favorite class of starship?

He drank the last of his water, and nodded to the server to refill it, while waiting on the Ensign's response.

He thought for a moment, and replied.

Ens Panettiere: The Sovereign Class is pretty cool, so are the Akira and Steamrunner Classes. But I would have to say the Intrepid Class is my favorite because it can land, and has nacelles that move. I really like that.

He didn't want to fill up on the salad, so he stopped eating it and waited for his spaghetti and meatballs to arrive.

Ens Panettiere: Do you have a favorite class, Sir?

He looked at the Captain and waited for him to respond, as a server filled both of their glasses with more cold water.

Without a moment of thought, he responded.

Capt Carpathia: Intrepid, for the exact same reasons!

He laughed quite wholeheartedly, as the waiter returned to remove their salad bowls and the empty plate the cheese sticks were on, and replaced it with a basket of garlic bread, and then placed his plate of lasagna in front of him, and the pate of spaghetti and meatballs in front of Ens Panettiere.

Mario: There you go gentlemen, enjoy your meal. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask.

The waiter left them to eat their meals, and continued to serve other guests.

Capt Carpathia: Woo, this sure smells good!

He began eating and savored every bite. Occasionally checking on the Yeoman to make sure he was enjoying his food as well.

He enjoyed the spaghetti and meatballs with the garlic bread. It tasted better than what he's had in a long time.

Ens Panettiere: This is really good. We got to eat here again before we go out on our next mission.

He continued eating till he was stuffed! He sat back in his chair and rubbed his stomach.

Ens Panettiere: Oh...I'm so full!

He smiled as he watched the Captain clean his plate. Wow, could he eat.

He heard the CinC's voice out in the greeting hall outside their offices, and got out of his chair and quickly entered the room.

He stood there looking up at the Admiral waiting on a response.
