Galleria Food Court - Level 59

The Admiral drank some of his wine along with RAdm Martinelli’s toast as he made everything he had to eat completely disappear. While listening to what was being said to Capt Zh’Osha, Aeryck noticed the glass of wine being pushed over to his side of the table by Como Carpathia. The CinC was well aware that his friend was not keen on alcoholic beverages, so he didn’t point out that it severely lacked etiquette to push the glass over towards someone else seated at the table. The proper thing to do was to just leave it in front of him and let the server take it away.

But there were more pressing matters at this table, that being Capt Zh’Osha using the Deltaurans as a possible threat they would be facing again and all the crews needed to learn to work together on one vessel since all the others were under repairs. That was just untrue since there was nothing being repaired on Infiniti or Sutherland. Both ships could leave at any time. Sutherland just needed a crew since their last group of senior officers were all volunteers from the other ships. Pi’Lar’s point was being lost by her inability to communicate what she wanted to do exactly, plus her reference to the Deltaurans showed she didn’t read her report clearly, if at all.

Adm Arayuss: I suggest the Captain here read the full report on the Battle of Sector Epsilon as soon as possible. Then submit in writing exactly what her proposal entails to Admiral Martinelli. She needs to outline it completely without innuendos of looming Deltauran surprise attacks on Starbase 34. That race is extinct, I saw to that myself. This base wouldn’t be out here with just four vessels to protect it, if it didn’t have the capabilities to protect itself. Tony, be sure Captain Zh’Osha has access to the specifications of our base here in the Gamma Quadrant. That way she knows what she is talking about when coming up with surprise threats against us.

While Aeryck finished off his wine, he started on E.J.’s glass. The fruity flavor was quite palatable and there was a robust aroma as well. Since they already had the churros, there really wasn’t much of a dessert menu, other than ice cream sundaes. But the Admiral wasn’t unsure if anyone was in the mood for such an indulgence. It was now up to Capt Zh’Osha to respond on all that she had heard. Andorians were notorious for being arrogant and very seldom were they ready to accept being wrong. Aeryck was curious to see which route the Captain would be undertaking.

Tony nodded in agreement in what Adm Arayuss had told him. He would make sure Capt Zh’Osha had all the information she needed regarding SB34 so she could make a proper assessment of it’s capabilities. Before the Rear Admiral had the opportunity to continue the conversation, he heard a familiar tone on his PADD indicating there was a message from the Administrative Assistant, Lt. JG Russ. Picking up his device, Tony read what she sent him regarding Cmdr Kee waiting to be debriefed regarding the events surrounding the death of Capt Marino. Since Adm Arayuss would be needed there as well as Como Carpathia, Tony announced it was time to finish their lunch and head on up to the Administrative Offices. With Capt Zh’Osha being invited as well, RAdm Martinelli made sure to let her know she was to follow them back to Tony’s office.

RAdm Martinelli: I just got a message from Andrea, Commander Kee is waiting to see me regarding the events leading up to the death of Captain Marino. Admiral, Commodore, Captain, let’s finish up here and get up to my office so we can start the inquiry into the matter at hand.

When the server came by to see if they wanted anything else, Tony informed her there was nothing more and to scan his thumbprint on her PADD to debit his account for the lunch he shared with everyone at the table, including the red wine Capt Zh’Osha ordered for everyone. Once that was completed, RAdm Martinelli raised up from the table and started for the Entrance/Exit of the restaurant, only to pause and wait on the others to join him.

The Admiral rose from his chair after finishing off the last of his good friend, Como Carpathia’s wine. Since his metabolism is so efficient in processing toxins that alcohol basically has no effect on him, Aeryck could drink it like it was nothing more than grape juice. The CinC was curious to hear from Cmdr Kee on how Capt Marino was found dead, so he walked over to where Tony was standing in the restaurant and waited for E.J. and Pi’Lar to join him before starting their way to the Administration Offices. Aeryck mentioned his curiosity to RAdm Martinelli while they waited together…

Adm Arayuss: I’d really like to know how Lou got himself killed on his first mission out there as Captain of the Sutherland. He really seemed so excited about his new position here in Gamma Fleet. I guess we’ll know more when we talk with Commander Kee.

The CinC continued waiting on Como Carpathia and Capt Zh’Osha to join them at the front of Gabriel’s Taco Bell before they would begin making their way across the Galleria to the Turbolifts. While waiting, Aeryck wondered if MGen Alderez should be invited to the inquiry hearing as well, since there were Marines aboard Sutherland when Capt Marino was found dead. Rex may have questions for Cmdr Kee from a SFMC perspective, so Adm Arayuss made a mental note to inform the Major General of the meeting in the Chief of Fleet Operations Office once they returned.

E.J. smiled at Capt Zh’Osha as he watched her put the cork back in the wine bottle. It was obvious she was planning on taking the remaining amount of wine back with her. It was apparent that Pi’Lar enjoyed the spirits in the bottle and was planning on having more later on. They both rose from the table and walked over to where Adm Arayuss and RAdm Martinelli were waiting for them.

Como Carpathia: Lead the way, Admirals.

Following behind both the CinC and the Chief of Fleet Operations, the Commodore and the Captain crossed the Galleria together before the four of them entered an available Turbolift. They rode it all the way up to Administration Office Level where they exited and continued down the corridor. Seeing the Acting CO of Sutherland seated in one of the plush chairs across from the row of offices, E.J. gave Cmdr Kee a warm smile. They would be momentarily with the Commander as soon as they settled in the Office of the Chief of Fleet Operations.
