Bridge - Deck 1

Daqtorgh couldn't help but notice Cmdr Ashborn waiting for a response, so the Captain addressed his XO first.

Capt Daqtorgh: Go tend to your duties, Number One.

The tall Klingon CO looked over towards his Yeoman and spoke to him softly as to give him an option, not an order.

Capt Daqtorgh: Commander Ashborn is going be up to his neck soon in refugees. You can either stay here on the Bridge and wait with us for a response from the planet, or you can go and assist the Commander. Especially if there's kids involved, Luis.

Looking over towards the Ops Station, Daqtorgh made sure Lt. Mitchell knew he was appreciated for his hard work.

Capt Daqtorgh: Thank you Mr. Mitchell, great work!

Daqtorgh then looked over towards the Sec/Tac Station and spoke to Lt. Wolf regarding the Security of the ship.

Capt Daqtorgh: Mr. Wolf, have Security Teams armed with projectile weapons on all decks. In the unlikely event a Xenomorph gets up here, I want us to be prepared.

The CO watched as Cmdr Ashborn made for the Turbolift doors while looking back to see if Ens Garcia was following. Daqtorgh watched the Ensign to see what he was going to decide, will he remain on the Bridge or would he go assist the XO with his duties finding places for all the refugees that would be coming up through the Transporters? The Captain knew his Yeoman was honorable and would make the right choice.

The young Yeoman stood up from the seat next to Capt Daqtorgh, figuring he could best serve the Captain by assisting Cmdr Ashborn setup temporary housing for the refugees here aboard Whitestar. If any children were among the survivors, Luis would allow his presence to calm them down and offer support in helping the children know they were now safe from the Xenomorphs.

Ens Garcia: I'll assist the Commander with the refugees, Captain. If you need me for anything, don't hesitate to contact me. I'm a Combadge tap away, Sir.

The Ensign followed the XO to the Turbolift and took it down to Deck 4 where they walked together to the Transporter Room. They stood there, waiting along with Dr. Tudismaque, for the refugees to start beaming up. Luis figured it wouldn't be long before the colonists would begin transporting from the surface, so he made sure his uniform was all fit and proper so when he was seen, they would know he was genuine.

The Lieutenant was somewhat confused by what Capt Daqtorgh had said about the use of projectile weapons while aboard Whitestar. The armor piercing rounds that would be fired would be capable of puncturing the hull of the ship, plus the molecular acid the Xenomorphs use for blood would eat right through the decks once they were injured or killed by the weapons. Kyle, unfortunately had no other suggestions at this time, but the Lieutenant knew using the projectile weapons would spell disaster for the Akira Class Starship.

Lt. Wolf: Captain? Those kind of weapons are fine on the surface, but very dangerous in space! The rounds could penetrate the hull and terminated Xenomorphs would bleed their acid blood onto the decks and cause extensive damage! It is unfortunate that I do not have an alternative, other than the use of incinerator units. It would burn them and cause them to fall back where they can be blocked into an area with Level 10 Force Fields and then beamed out into space. This is the best solution I can think of if one of those things come aboard. My apologies, Sir.

The Chief Sec/Tac Officer waited to hear what the CO had to say in response to what he was just informed of. The Lieutenant felt bad that he had to shoot down the Captain's idea of using the projectile weapons, but Lt. Wolf also knew Capt Daqtorgh wouldn't want Whitestar to be badly damaged in the event a battle was needed aboard the ship to fend off a Xenomorph incursion.

Daqtorgh felt somewhat embarrassed by his error in judgment for the order to use projectile weapons by the Security Personnel. The Captain wasn't thinking clearly or he would've known the weapons would be extremely dangerous to use aboard Whitestar. Daqtorgh was just concerned with the lives of everyone on the ship.

Capt Daqtorgh: I stand corrected Mr. Wolf! Modify current order to have Security teams on each deck with flame throwers. We certainly don't want those things bleeding out on any of the decks. My sincere apologies for the confusion Lieutenant. I would never intentionally put the Whitestar in peril, there is no honor in that.

The CO was no too proud to admit it when he made a mistake, which was an honorable trait. It was something Daqtorgh's father taught him when he was even younger than Yeoman Garcia. The Captain knew that admitting when he made an error would show his Bridge Crew that he wasn't an ogre, bent on always being correct. But that Daqtorgh was an honorable Klingon with a passion to do right by his crew.

Kyle understood how the Captain could make the wrong decision in the type of weapons to arm the Security Personnel and made the modification to Capt Daqtorgh's order. The Lieutenant informed all the Security teams to arm themselves with incinerator units and instructed them on what to do if one should be encountered.

Lt. Wolf: I understand, Captain. I've instructed all Security Personnel to arm themselves with flame throwers and to position themselves on each deck. I also let them know to block any Xenomorphs they encounter behind Level 10 Force Fields where they can be either beamed into space, or back down to New Bajor, far from the evacuation site, Sir.

The Chief Sec/Tac Officer was pleased Capt Daqtorgh opened up and apologized for being incorrect with the armament to be distributed to the teams. This act showed Kyle that the Captain truly was a man of honor and not one who simply looked for the glory of a kill. Lt. Wolf was proud to serve such a CO aboard Whitestar with such qualities.

As Rafo was monitoring his console on the Bridge, he saw that Infiniti just launched their ISSCV out of their Shuttlebay! It was now time for MCpt Vansen to get the Wildcards out there to escort Infiniti’s team down to the surface and provide air support for them. The Lieutenant Colonel announced to Capt Daqtorgh the Marines from Infiniti were on their way!

Lt. Colonel Carrera: Captain Daqtorgh, Infiniti has launched their Marines in the ISSCV! They’re descending to the planet’s surface now! It’s time to deal the Wildcards!

As the Marine Detachment Wing Commander waited to hear back from Capt Daqtorgh on the order to launch the 58th Squadron on their assignment, LtCol Carrera opened a channel to MCpt Vansen so he could inform her right away that it was launch time! From that moment on, the mission would be a go; sending their Marines to aid in the protection of the surviving colonists in their desperate need to evacuate New Bajor.

As Daqtorgh waited for Infiniti to launch their ISSCV, he got up and started pacing the Bridge. A short time later the Captain heard the exclamation from LtCol Carrera. It pleased Daqtorgh as he gave the order to launch the 58th Squadron on their latest mission.

Capt Daqtorgh: Launch the 58th Squadron immediately, Colonel Carrera! Consider the Wildcards dealt! Have them escort Infiniti's Marines to the surface of New Bajor and then take up a low altitude position to protect the ISSCV as it will be their base of operations! They'll also need to protect the colonists when they start coming out of the mouth of the cave! Inform the Wildcards they're to terminate the Xenomorphs with extreme prejudice!

The CO returned to his chair and waited to see the SA-43X Hammerheads launching out the bow Flight Deck to intercept the ISSCV and escort them through the atmosphere and down to the surface of the planet. All that needed to happen was for LtCol Carrera to give the order to MCpt Vansen to launch the 58th Squadron immediately.

The Lieutenant Colonel did as Capt Daqtorgh ordered and immediately informed MCpt Vansen to launch their Hammerheads to escort the ISSCV down to New Bajor. Afterwards they would be maintaining a low altitude position so the Starfighters could protect the evacuation site from any Xenomorphs trying to attack the Marines, med-team and survivors.

The Marine Detachment Wing Commander watched his console for the SA-43X's to launch from the bow Flight Deck. Rafo was always pleased with the expeditious ways MCpt Vansen handled her business and knew the Hammerheads would be accelerating into space in a matter of moments. The SA-43X's were already in their proper positions on the Flight Deck, so all Vansen had to do was command the rest of the Wildcards to follow her out into space: above and beyond!

Bow Flight Deck - Deck 12

Shane heard LtCol Carrera over the earpiece in her helmet and tapped the button on the side to open the channel to respond to the Marine Detachment Wing Commander. It was finally time to launch their Hammerheads out into space so they could escort the ISSCV down to the surface, where they would take up low altitude positions and hover there so the Marine pilots could protect Infiniti’s Marines, medical staff and colonists from the Xenomorph threat.

MCpt Vansen: Roger that! Wildcards are a go!

The Marine Captain called out to the other members of the 58th Squadron who were ready in the cockpits of their Hammerheads to launch as well!

MCpt Vansen: Time to launch, let’s punch it!

With sudden acceleration, the Deputy Detachment Wing Commander launched out of the bow of the USS Whitestar with the other remaining SA-43X’s behind her. The 58th Squadron was in the formation of a Flying 'V' with 1Lt. Nathan West, call-sign ‘King of Hearts’ off the starboard wing of MCpt Vansen and 1Lt. Cooper Hawkes, call-sign ‘Jack of Spades’ off her port wing. 1Lt. Paul Wang, call-sign ‘Joker’ was just off the starboard wing of 1Lt. West and 1Lt. Vanessa Damphousse, call-sign ‘Ace of Hearts’ was off the port wing of 1Lt. Hawkes. Together they approached the ISSCV which was in a slow descent to New Rakantha where Shane tapped her Companel to notify Infiniti’s Inter Solar System Cargo Vessel of the Wildcards’ intentions.

MCpt Vansen: Captain Shane Vansen calling Infiniti I-Double-S-C-V! We’ve been sent to escort you to the surface and then standby in low altitude proximity to provide air cover for the evacuation zone. Please acknowledge!

As Shane waited on the reply from Infiniti’s ISSCV pilot, she maneuvered her Hammerhead to the starboard side of the Cargo Vessel and looked to her left to see the pilots in the cockpit of the Marino Dropship. MCpt Vansen gave a slight wave to them so they would know they were among friends. The other members of the 58th Squadron flanked the ISSCV as they slowly approached the thermospheric layer of New Bajor.

As Cole was monitoring the Communications Panel for any transmissions from the colonists down on the surface, the Lieutenant immediately noticed an incoming hail from Como Carpathia aboard Infiniti. The Lieutenant immediately put the transmission up on the Main Viewer for Capt Daqtorgh to see!

Como Carpathia: Captain Daqtorgh, this is Commodore Carpathia aboard Infiniti! I want to thank you for sending the Wildcards to escort our Marines and Medical Staff down to New Rakantha. I really appreciate what you’ve done and I’m sure Captain Lopez and Dr. Sarrlak are grateful as well. The SA-43X’s will certainly add a higher level of security for the evacuees that ground forces couldn’t do alone.

The Chief Ops Officer kept the channel open for Capt Daqtorgh to respond to Como Carpathia. Lt. Mitchell was thrilled to be on the receiving end of such a message from the Division 1 Commander. This would truly lead to a commendation for the Captain! Especially if the Hammerheads end up engaging the Xenomoprhs in order to protect the colonists during the evacuation process. If all goes well, the Wildcards would be getting commendations as well!
