When Michaelangelo read the message from MCpt Lopez on the surface of New Bajor, he turned and informed Capt Calzada they were ready to beam up the next group of children from the extraction site.

Lt. Commander Boffi: According to Captain Lopez, the Transporter Enhancers are in place, so we can start beaming up a while lot more children at one time, Captain Calzada! When shall we start, Sir?

The Chief Operations Officer was in the process of preparing to beam up another 80 children while he waited on hearing the go-ahead from Capt Calzada. Once LtCmdr Boffi got what he was waiting for, Michaelangelo would need to let Ens McKenna know Holodeck 2 would be getting the maximum amount of children in the next group being transported from New Bajor.

The Captain was pleased when he heard the report from LtCmdr Boffi, and quickly replied to his Chief Operations Officer.

Capt Calzada: Excellent, Mr. Boffi! Let's beam up as many of those kids we can carry comfortably in our Holodecks! Make it so!

David thought for a moment and continued speaking to Michaelangelo...

Capt Calzada: Be sure to let Ensign McKenna know he's got eighty more refugees coming up in the next group, so he should be quick to get them situated. The Yeoman should also get Holodeck 3 ready as soon as possible, so we can beam up one hundred and twenty there in one shot. We'll continue the process until all of our Holodecks are at maximum occupancy for their comfort. After that, I'll notify Admiral Arayuss that Sutherland will be next to beam up the next group of Bajoran refugees. So far we've been lucky and none of the Xenomorphs have realized the survivors are escaping their clutches. Once they do, it will surely be Hell down there!

The CO watched as LtCmdr Boffi quickly turned back to his console and followed the Captain's orders. First on his list was to let Jeremy know there was a whole group of 80 coming up at one time. That way the Ensign wouldn't be shocked when he received twice as many refugees as the Yeoman had been getting in the past. David thought this was a much more efficient way to retrieve the children in need of emergency evacuation from a deadly predicament.

LtCmdr Boffi immediately called down to Holodeck 2 so he could inform Ens McKenna of the 80 arriving refugees and to prepare Holodeck 3 for the next 120 that would be coming all at one time. Afterwards they would be beaming up another 120 to Holodecks 4 and 5. When all was said and done, they would have 600 refugees aboard.

Lt. Commander Boffi: Boffi to Ensign McKenna! The next group of children are ready to beam up, but this time there's going to be eighty! After that Captain Calzada wants you to prepare Holodecks Three, Four and Five for the arrival of one hundred twenty refugees, each! That way we'll be at our maximum occupancy to transport the survivors back to Starbase 34. Let me know when you're ready, Jeremy! Boffi out!

The Chief Operations Officer waited at his station on the Bridge for Ens McKenna to respond before Michaelangelo would beam up the 80 refugees to Holodeck 2. LtCmdr Boffi was happy he didn't have to care for all the children that would be coming up to Oriskany from the extraction site on New Bajor. This was going to be a character building exercise for the young Yeoman, that much was certain.

As Jeremy was about to respond to LtCmdr Arrayah, he heard the call from LtCmdr Boffi on the Bridge. Before speaking to the Counselor, the Ensign tapped his Combadge in order to reply to the Chief Operations Officer.

Ens McKenna: Acknowledged! I'll get right on top of that, Sir!

The Ensign then looked towards Counselor Arrayah and smiled as he replied to her inquiry about him needing assistance.

Ens McKenna: I could use all the help I can get, Counselor! We're going to need more Bajoran alphabet soup since we'll be getting another eighty kids in here. There's already enough beds and robes for them all. I just need more soup, so if you can handle that for me, that would be awesome!

Jeremy watched as the Counselor went to the food replicator and began the process of preparing the soup for the newly arriving refugees. As soon as it looked like LtCmdr Arrayah was finished, the Ensign tapped his Combadge and called out to LtCmdr Boffi to let him know they were ready for the arriving 80 refugees from New Bajor.

Ens McKenna: McKenna to Lieutenant Commander Boffi! We're all set down here, go ahead and beam up the remaining eighty children to Holodeck Two!

The Yeoman made sure the area where the arriving refugees would be materializing was completely clear and waited for the children to arrive. Jeremy knew it wouldn't take long before they arrived on Holodeck 2 and would remove their wet clothing and put on the warm dry robes by each of their beds. So far the soup was a big hit with the kids, so the Ensign knew he made the right choice in having more soup prepared for them all. Once these 80 were all settled in with the previous 40, that would make 120 refugees in all inside Holodeck 2. With the next group of kids coming in at a total of 120 into Holodeck 3 at one time, Jeremy felt he was going to need further assistance from the Medical personnel. Ens McKenna would make the request from Dr. Jovic as soon as they were heading to Deck 10 to where Holodecks 3, 4, and 5 were located.

Hearing the response LtCmdr Boffi had been waiting for, he signaled down to the ISSCV so MCpt Lopez would be aware the 80 refugees would be transporting up to Oriskany, and to prepare the next group of 120 to be ready for extraction.

Lt. Commander Boffi: Understood, Jeremy! Here they come!

Michaelangelo's fingers worked the Ops Console and used the Sovereign Class vessel's Transporters to beam up the 80 refugees standing in the center of the enhancers operating so the children could transport through the atmospheric interference from the storm. Once the cycle was complete, LtCmdr Boffi called back down to Holodeck 2 and asked if all the children made it safely.

Lt. Commander Boffi: You should have eighty wet refugees, Mr. McKenna! Can you confirm that they arrived safely, Ensign?

The Chief Operations Officer found himself awaiting the response of the Yeoman in Holodeck 2 on Deck 4 again. Once LtCmdr Boffi heard back from Ens McKenna, Michaelangelo would inform MCpt Lopez it was time to ready the next group of 120 refugees to come up to the safety of Oriskany's Holodecks, where they would be entirely safe from the Xenomorphs!

When Jeremy heard LtCmdr Boffi on the Bridge inform him the Bajoran kids were on their way, the Ensign yelled out to everyone so they knew what was happening.

Ens McKenna: Here they come, we've got eighty refugees beaming in, so stand clear!

When the 80 wet Bajoran children materialized, they started making the floor wet from the water dripping from their clothes and bodies. Jeremy called out to LtCmdr Boffi to let him know the kids arrived safely.

Ens McKenna: McKenna to Lieutenant Commander Boffi, the children arrived safely! I'll let you know when we're ready for the next hundred twenty in Holodeck Three. McKenna out!

The Ensign then addressed the Bajoran children to instruct them to make themselves more comfortable.

Ens McKenna: All you new people, listen up! Over on the beds there are warm robes to put on! Remove your wet clothing before you put on the robes, Counselor Arrayah will be bringing you all some Bajoran alphabet soup to help warm you up! You're all safe now aboard the USS Oriskany! So rest well!

The Yeoman watched as the children changed out of their wet clothing and put on the warm robes. As the Bajoran refugees were sitting on their beds, Jeremy nodded to Counselor Arrayah for her to start serving the soup to the children. This would assist in warming up their bellies from the cold rain they had been standing in as they waited to beam up to the Sovereign Class Starship.

The tall slender woman graciously served each one of the newly arrived refugees with the soup Ens McKenna gave the others. They all seemed quite pleased with the Ensign's choice of soup and began eating it as soon as they were given their bowls. Once LtCmdr Arrayah was complete, she looked over at Dr. Jovic who was examining the children and was concerned if they were all faring well considering the circumstances.

Lt. Commander Arrayah: How are the children doing, Doctor? I can tell they must be hungry and cold by the way they're eating their soups. It's a good thing Ensign McKenna raised the temperature in here so it would help warm the children.

When the child refugees finished their bowls of soup, many of them asked for more, so the Counselor served them a second bowl of the Bajoran alphabet soup. While they were eating, LtCmdr Arrayah watched as the Doctor continued making her rounds on all the new arrivals in Holodeck 2 as the Counselor waited on Dr. Jovic's response.

The Doctor looked over at Counselor Arrayah and smiled as she continued to check over the children one at a time. Using her Medical Tricorder, Dragana scanned each child and other than having slight hypothermia and borderline malnutrition, they were all fine. The soup Ens McKenna had made for the refugees was filled with a lot of vitamins and was very nutritious, so Dr. Jovic knew after their consumption of the soup, the problems of malnutrition and hypothermia will wither away.

Cmdr Jovic: The children are all going to be fine, thanks to the soup Jeremy was kind enough to make for them. They’re all dealing with slight hypothermia and borderline malnutrition, but with the soup in their bodies, it should be taken care of it rather quickly.

Dragana continued checking the vitals of each child until the last one was scanned. Now that they were all examined and scanned for any anomalies, the Doctor looked over to where Ens McKenna was and let Jeremy know he could proceed to Holodeck 3 and prepare it for the arrival of the next 120 child refugees.

Cmdr Jovic: Looks like we’re all set here, Ensign. We can go down to Holodeck Three and get it ready for the arrival of the next group of children waiting in the rain to beam up to safety. I’ll inform the personnel needed to watch over the children as they sleep here in Holodeck Two.

The Chief Medical Officer placed all of her items in her Medkit and prepared to follow the Yeoman down to Holodeck 3 to prepare for the arriving children. Tapping her Combadge, Dr. Jovic informed the personnel needed to watch the children here in Holodeck 2, even though they would be asleep. That way the child refugees would have people here to monitor them as they slept in their warm beds.

The Ensign waited a few moments for the assisting personnel to arrive before he led Dr. Jovic and Counselor Arrayah out of Holodeck 2 on Deck 4 and to the Turbolift where they would proceed to Deck 10 where they would enter Holodeck 3, where Jeremy would instruct the computer to make identical accommodations that were in both Holodecks 1 and 2.

Ens McKenna: Follow me! We'll be down in Holodeck Three in no time at all!

Together the three of them exited Holodeck 2, leaving the enlisted personnel to watch over the sleeping children. They walked with Ens McKenna in the lead, followed by Dr. Jovic, with Counselor Arrayah bringing up the rear. As the Ensign, Doctor and Counselor used the Turbolift and descended to Deck 10, Jeremy was really excited to be part of such an important task aboard his first voyage aboard the USS Oriskany. When they entered Holodeck 3, Jeremy went right to work, preparing the area for the immediate arrival of the 120 child refugees that LtCmdr Boffi would be beaming up in one group. Once the Holodeck was ready for the children, the Ensign contacted the Bridge to let the Chief Operations Officer know Holodeck 3 was ready!

Ens McKenna: McKenna to Lieutenant Commander Boffi! We're ready for the refugees in Holodeck Three! Go ahead and transport them immediately, Sir! We're standing by!

As the Yeoman waited for the 120 children to arrive, he began making a bunch of Bajoran alphabet soup for the arriving child refugees. Smiling towards Counselor Arrayah as she came over to help with the serving carts for the bowls of soup to be laid on once they were filled with broth, vegetables, and noodles in the shapes of Bajoran letters in their alphabet. Jeremy was pleased the idea for this soup was going over so well, since the children in both Holodecks 1 and 2 went right through it and even had second bowlfuls before going to sleep.

With the refugees standing by, inside the enhancers, LtCmdr Boffi worked the Ops Console like a musical keyboard and followed through with what Ens McKenna had requested. All 120 children were beamed directly to Holodeck 3 on Deck 10. Michaelangelo called down to Jeremy to make sure the child refugees had arrived safely.

Lt. Commander Boffi: Did all those kids make it up here safely, Jeremy? This is the first time I've transported so many people at one time, I just want to make sure they've got all their fingers and toes!

The Chief Operations Officer heard a few muffled laughs from behind him, knowing what LtCmdr Boffi said would sound amusing to Capt Calzada, Cmdr Kee, and the others. Michaelangelo left the channel to the Yeoman open so all the young officer had to do was verbally respond. Having 120 children arriving at one time had to be making Ens McKenna a very busy boy.
