Chase regained his composure and immediately did what he could to get power to the consoles at the Sec/Tac Station. Upon doing so the consoles came back to life and the XO accessed the ship's computer to see the damage Whitestar received. He was stunned to see that their port nacelle had been completely destroyed. There was also high levels of radiation permeating through the lower sections of the hull. The First Officer tapped the Companel to get a hold of their Chief Engineer.

Cmdr Ashborn: Bridge to Engineering! Mr. Cypher, are you there!?!

The Commander was worried the radiation could have possibly reached Main Engineering and injured the crew profusely. Chase watched the other members of the Bridge crew doing what they could to get their stations operational. He never expected Whitestar would have taken on this level of damage. Their shields were completely useless in the attack against them, if only there was a way to shield Whitestar from another attack by the large creature at the center of the Deltauran Mass.

Thom picked himself up off the deck and quickly used a working console to see the damage Whitestar took and was completely shocked! He raised Level 1 Forcefields around exposed areas of the ship to protect the crew from the radiation. After he raised the shields he heard the XO's voice call down from the Bridge to which he responded immediately.

Lt. Commander Cypher: Cypher to Bridge, I'm still here! Level 1 Forcefields are up around the exposed areas to protect against the radiation. But there's power overloads all around the ship!

While waiting on Cmdr Ashborn to reply, he looked down and saw a text message from Oriskany's Chief Engineer, LtCmdr Lewis Little which read: Chief Engineer Cypher, SCE Directive 29. See attached program.

The Chief activated the program immediately so the ship's computer will be in sync with Oriskany's, that way they would be able to implement the Plan Z together, making sure to end the existence of all the Deltaurans, including the giant creature in the center.

The Captain watched the officers at their stations working to get their consoles online when he heard the response from LtCmdr Cypher that there were Level 1 Forcefields in place around the areas exposed to the radiation from the nacelle that was obliterated. This made Treasar feel better that his crew was protected from the deadly exposure.

Exterior - Space

Another beam from the creature's eyes came right towards Whitestar and without an obstacle to defend it, the beam cut a gouge right by the Bridge of the Akira Class Starship.

Bridge - Deck 1

Consoles exploded and a section of the ceiling was completely destroyed dropping parts of the structure down on the Bridge crew, injuring many of them. The Captain was impaled through the heart by a sharp shard of metal and slumped down to the floor. His last thoughts were of his crew and their safety. He hoped Adm Arayuss would do what he could to get them back to SB34.

Treasar looked over towards Cmdr Ashborn who was manning the Sec/Tac and wanted to tell him he was in charge of the ship now, but before he could speak the Captain passed away on the deck of the Bridge.

The Vulcan Science Officer quickly moved over to the Captain to check his vital statistics, to his stoic dismay, Capt Adonis was dead. Other officers around the Bridge were injured as well. He looked to Cmdr Ashborn who was still at the Sec/Tac Station with a wound on his forehead that appeared to need medical attention, as did the other officers on the Bridge as well.

Lt. Commander Skonch: Commander, the Captain is dead. What are your orders, Sir.

Skonch took out the first aid kit and began administering treatment to the Commander's forehead. It seemed his head impacted the edge of the console he was stationed at. Afterwards, he began to examine the rest of the crew on the Bridge and offer treatment to them too. All of the consoles on the Bridge seemed to be out and he tapped his Combadge to contact Sickbay.

Lt. Commander Skonch: Bridge to Sickbay, medical emergency. The Captain has received a fatal injury and is not responding.

There was no reply from Dr. Brewer, so he called out to the computer.

Lt. Commander Skonch: Computer, locate Doctor Brewer.

There was no response from the ship's computer either, that meant that the Bridge's systems were completely offline, including communications. This meant their Chief Engineer was now charged with assisting the situation they were all currently in.

Chase held the gauze to his head and shook off the pain as best he could. He saw that LtCmdr Skonch was helping other members of the Bridge crew with their injuries as they were in the lights of the backup batteries.

Cmdr Ashborn: Thank you, Mr. Skonch. I'll see if I can reach Main Engineering through the Com by rerouting any power I can through the conduit system. Keep helping the others with their medical needs.

With the body of Capt Adonis lying down in the center of the Bridge, he could not help but feel sympathy for the crew once they learned of their Captain's fate. Chase knew his crew respected Treasar and that he would be sorely missed by everyone aboard. As long as they were without communications and there was no way off the Bridge to regroup elsewhere, LtCmdr Cypher would have to use his training to get them out of this mess.

Thom felt the ship lurch again and he immediately went to the console to see where they had been hit, and saw that it was the Bridge. The computer indicated that they lost all power and communications up there, they just had the backup lights running off the ship's batteries to keep them from sitting in the dark. He knew with the CO and XO out of commission that put him in charge so he went over to the Warp Core ejection system controls and initialized the procedure.

Lt. Commander Cypher: I'm ejecting the Warp Core, everyone stand clear!

With the Engineering crew out of the way, the Core ejected with a large whooshing sound and it was floating out in space below Whitestar. It was clear for Infiniti to use their Repulsor Beam to send the Core right into the face of that damned beast that had caused the deaths of so many and was planning to kill many more with it's mysterious way it created more of it's drones.

Jacques was in Sickbay assisting Dr. Brewer by treating members of the crew suffering radiation burns from the destruction of the Warp Nacelle. He was pleased to feel the ship moving at Warp so he knew the danger must be over and they were on their way back to SB34. He overheard members of the crew talking about the Bridge being hit and that alerted the Asst. Medical Officer immediately.

Ens Tudismaque: Doctor, there may be casualties on the Bridge, should I go there to assist?

The young Ensign waited on the order from his superior officer, Dr. Brewer. He would contact the Bridge and ask if they needed his assistance but that would be out of line since he was not a doctor nor the Chief Medical Officer aboard Whitestar.

Dr. Brewer sensed that his assistant, Ensign Tudismaque, had a feeling of anxiety and concern over his decision on what to do about going to the Bridge to help out there. The Doctor hoped that his approval and encouragement would help assuage the Ensign's feeling of anxiety.

Lt. Commander Brewer: Ensign, all the patients in Sickbay are doing well and everything is stable here. You should go to the Bridge to assist there. With your experience, you are well qualified to assist with any casualties. If anything appears so serious that you feel too uncomfortable with, just get word to me and I will be there immediately.

The Chief Medical Officer returned to his patients and continued administering treatment for their radiation burns. The most pressing thing was to help them feel comfortable through the pain a burn can cause, and he was well stocked with analgesics for that task.

The Ensign nodded to Dr. Brewer and grabbed a Medkit off the shelf in Sickbay and tapped his Combadge to call the Bridge. Jacques wanted to make sure he didn't need to bring anything else with him.

Ens Tudismaque: Sickbay to Bridge, I'm on my way to assist with medical needs, what's your casualty status?

There was no reply. This worried the Asst Medical Officer so he asked the computer what was happening on the Bridge.

Ens Tudismaque: Computer, what's the status of the Bridge?

Whitestar-Com: Bridge systems offline, Deck One communication is not operational.

Ens Tudismaque: Can you initialize a site to site Transport from Sickbay to the Bridge?

Whitestar-Com: Negative, Transporters are offline.

Jacques thought about another course of action to take to get to the Bridge as he quickly left Sickbay. He knew there was an emergency access hatch on the floor of the Bridge, but he had to hope he could reach it. Continuing in a hurry he went to the Turbolift and took it to Deck 2. The Ensign went down the debris filled corridor and found the access ladder to the Bridge, which he quickly scurried up and opened the hatch to the Bridge. The interior was dimly lit by the backup batteries and none of the console displays were illuminated. He climbed onto the Bridge deck and saw the body of Capt Adonis. Jacques was stunned at the horrible sight of the metal shard impaling the Captain. Quickly he used the Medical Tricorder to take the CO's vitals but nothing was detected, he was truly dead. The Ensign looked over and saw LtCmdr Skonch giving first aid to the injured members of the Bridge crew, while Cmdr Ashborn was holding a gauze to his head as he sat by the Tac/Sec Station.

Ens Tudismaque: I cannot do anything for the Captain, Commander, he's gone. I'm very sorry.

The Asst Medical Officer checked the injury on the XO's head and saw that LtCmdr Skonch has did a fine job treating it. He figured Cmdr Ashborn needed an update on their situation so he filled him in on what happened.

Ens Tudismaque: We're at Warp, Commander. Infiniti has us in their Tractor Beam. I know we're heading back to Starbase 34 and we were victorious against the Deltaurans. Both Warp Cores were used to incinerate them when detonated. Doctor Brewer is in Sickbay treating crew members with radiation burns and they're doing well, he sent me here to check on all of you when we heard the Bridge had been hit. Communications are out up here or I would've notified you that I was making a house call.

Jacques used the Hypospray to inject the Executive Officer with a compound that would help relieve him of the pain from the injury to his head, as well as assist with the XO's ability to focus on what was happening.

Chase's head cleared up and the pain subsided, thanks to the injection from Ens Tudismaque. He got to his feet and steadied himself as he took command of what was left of the Bridge.

Cmdr Ashborn: Thank you, Ensign. Between you and Mr. Skonch we're in good hands up here. Now we just need to focus on getting off the Bridge and someplace where the rest of the crew here can get much needed rest and can recuperate in peace till we return to Starbase 34.

The XO went to where the doors which lead off the Bridge were and they were blocked by debris from the collapsed portions of the ceiling. He wondered if the Transporters were functional so they could be beamed directly to Sickbay.

Cmdr Ashborn: Mr. Tudismaque, do you know if Transporters are operational? That way we could all beam out of here.

As the Commander waited on Ens Tudismaque to reply, he opened the Companel on the Operations Console where Lt. JG Mitchell had been sitting before the attack on the Bridge, and began working on a way to regain Communications with the rest of the ship by rerouting power from the back-up batteries.
