Observation Area - Spacedock

The Captain saw LtCmdr Boffi and Alex Windsor leave the Turbolift and enter the Observation Area before approaching him. Lou shook both of their hands as he addressed the two of them.

Capt Marino: Hello Lieutenant Commander, I'd like to welcome you and Alex aboard. Get your Quarters setup, report to Commander Kee on the Bridge and do your pre-flight test and Operation Systems check.

The CO looked down at the boy standing beside LtCmdr Boffi and spoke to him next.

Capt Marino: Alex, I'd like you to work with the Yeoman and help him out with his tasks.

Lou watched as both LtCmdr Boffi and young Mr. Windsor made their way into Sutherland through the Gangway to go about unpacking and putting their stuff away in their Quarters, before reporting to their assigned tasks aboard the ship.

Jared entered the Observation Area with a bag over his shoulder, carrying what he decided to bring with him from Infiniti. He crossed the area between the Turbolifts and the Gangway to Sutherland, seeing Capt Marino standing there with his Yeoman, Como Carpathia and Adm Arayuss. LtCmdr D'Shoua greeted them all as he approached.

Lt. Commander D'Shoua: Hey all, hope you're doing well today! Lieutenant Commander Jared D'Shoua, Chief Security/Tactical Officer, reporting in, Captain Marino.

As Jared waited to hear back from Capt Marino, he gave a big smile towards Como Carpathia, knowing that he was here to see off members of his crew on Sutherland's mission to Sector Epsilon. He was thrilled Adm Arayuss was there also, even though he never really met him, he always respected somebody who did so much to overcome the odds of returning from the Andromeda Galaxy. As for Jansen, he gave him a wink, knowing they would catch up from last night while they were en route to their destination.

Lt. Commander Jared D'Shoua
Chief Security/Tactical Officer, USS Infiniti

Lou was happy to see LtCmdr D'Shoua arrive in the Observation Area with his travel bag over his shoulder. He extended his hand to the Chief Sec/Tac Officer and greeted him with his pre-flight assignment.

Capt Marino: Hello, Lieutenant Commander and welcome aboard. I have your pre-flight assignments for you. Please get Quarters set to your liking. Then report to the Bridge and run a system check on the Security/Tactical consoles at your station, don't forget to check in with Commander Kee when you get up there.

The Captain was very pleased to have Jared on this mission. His actions as the Chief Sec/Tac Officer aboard Infiniti were almost legendary. Lou watched as the Lieutenant Commander boarded the Gangway and walked across it to board Sutherland.

Sutherland's Chief Engineer was already aboard ship when it arrived, so he exited the vessel and proceeded across the Gangway so he could introduce himself to the Captain and give him a report from Engineering. This was the first time meeting Capt Marino so he wanted to make sure he made a good impression.

Lt. Commander Waters: Hello Captain, I am Lieutenant Commander Zachariah Waters, Chief Engineer of Sutherland. I've been aboard since we left the Alpha Quadrant making sure everything has been running smoothly. My report for Engineering is as follows: All systems aboard Sutherland are operating at peak efficiency. Computer Core has been updated with all the data collected on the Gamma Quadrant thus far from Starbase 34. Warp Core is powered up and Warp Speed will be ready at your command.

Zac remained there for Capt Marino's assessment of the report he just received. The Chief Engineer looked over and saw what looked like a Romulan child with softer features and eyes like a Betazoid, wearing the uniform of an Admiral, he thought that was quite odd. Beside him was a man in a Commodore uniform. He wondered why the boy was dressed that way. Maybe the child was the adopted son of the Commodore and he thought dressing the boy up in an Admiral's uniform was cute. Beside them was Sutherland's temporary Yeoman that he received an announcement from early this morning about the launch time being at 0800 hours.

Chief Engineering Officer, USS Oriskany

As the Chief Engineer gave his report to the Captain, Lou was quite pleased with his efficiency and thoroughness. He shook hands with LtCmdr Waters as he greeted him warmly.

Capt Marino: Hello, Lieutenant Commander! Thank you for your systems report. Please join us and I'll introduce you around, this is Admiral Arayuss our Commander in Chief of Gamma Fleet. This is Commodore Carpathia and our temporary Yeoman, Lieutenant Jansen Panettiere. We will have more of a chance to talk later about Starships, is this your first one Mr. Waters?

As Lou waited to hear back from LtCmdr Waters, he kept an eye on the Turbolifts to watch out for any arriving members of his Senior Staff. He was really looking forward to his mission and couldn't wait to launch from Spacedock.

Zac almost swallowed his tongue when he found out the Romulan/Betazoid looking child in the uniform was in fact, Adm Arayuss! He was so embarrassed by his own ignorance over the Admiral's appearance! With all of the weight Como Carpathia had lost, he didn't even recognize the man! The Chief Engineer was thrilled he didn't open his mouth and say something he would've regretted. Zac greeted them and answered Capt Marino's question regarding if this was his first Starship.

Lt. Commander Waters: Greetings Admiral, sorry I didn't recognize you. Commodore, you lost a lot of weight, it's good to see you again. I remember Yeoman Panettiere from Infiniti and when he sent me the message this morning that we were scheduled to launch at 0800. Captain, I served aboard Infiniti as their Chief Engineering Officer during their second mission to investigate the disappearance of the SS Kankakee. Then I took a position at Utopia Planetia Shipyards above Mars, for which I served there for years until I got the desire to serve aboard a Starship again. So when I heard Sutherland was gearing up to transfer over to the Gamma Quadrant, I transferred right over with it and here I am!

The Chief Engineer smiled at everyone, hoping there was no offenses to anybody over him not recognizing them. It had been a while since he was out this way, but it sure felt good to be back. Now that Zac was reacquainted with everyone, he waited on Capt Marino's response before returning to Main Engineering aboard Sutherland. It wasn't that there was anything specific he had to do, it just he wanted to continue to make sure everything was ready for when the Captain gave the word for Warp Speed.

Lou was impressed that his Chief Engineer was so experienced. He knew LtCmdr Waters would have great stories to tell when they had some time together. The Captain made a note to himself to put some time aside for Zac so he could get to know him better.

Capt Marino: Mr. Waters, you may return to Main Engineering, thank you. I look forward to seeing what you can make this Starship do. I'm glad to have you aboard, maybe we can swap stories over something to drink sometime. I look forward to hearing about your time on Infiniti.

The Captain watched LtCmdr Waters turn around and walk back through the Gangway over to Sutherland. Lou truly felt that a good Chief Engineer was worth double his weight in gold pressed latinum. He couldn't be more pleased with Zac and was thrilled to have him aboard.

Dr. Jovic stepped out of the Turbolift and walked across the Observation Area to meet Capt Marino, who was standing with Adm Arayuss, Como Carpathia and Lt. Panettiere. She was glad to see the Captain greeting his Senior Staff as they approached the Gangway. The Doctor was curious to see how Sickbay was designed and planned to do that as soon as she was finished stowing her stuff in her Quarters.

Cmdr Jovic: Hello Captain, Doctor Dragana Jovic reporting in. I'll be your Chief Medical Officer for this mission.

While waiting for Capt Marino to respond, the Doctor looked over at Adm Arayuss, a fellow Romulan, and smiled. Even though he was a hybrid made in a laboratory on Romulus and mixed with Betazoid DNA, he was still Romulan in appearance, except for his large doe-like dark eyes. Dragana was nevertheless, glad to see him standing there in support of Capt Marino's first mission.

The Captain was very happy to see Dr. Jovic carrying her belongings in an over-the-shoulder travel case and coming over to report that she was ready for her duties. Lou shook her hand before he expressed his thanks for volunteering for the mission and gave her his orders for pre-launch.

Capt Marino Hello Doctor, welcome aboard the Sutherland. Thank you so much for volunteering for this mission with me. I hope the medical facilities are to your satisfaction. Please get your Quarters to your liking and then report to Sickbay to start prepping for our mission. We don't know what's going happen in Sector Epsilon, so I hope your services will be minimal on this mission.

Lou watched as the Doctor smiled and nodded her head before she stepped across the Gangway and into the interior of the Sutherland. He figured Sickbay should be to her satisfaction since the whole vessel had been updated at the shipyards at Utopia Planetia. The Captain remained with Adm Arayuss, Como Carpathia and Yeoman Panettiere as they watched the Turbolifts for the next Senior Staff member to enter the Observation Area.

Kestra arrived in the Observation Area and quickly walked up to Capt Marino and reported in. She was pleased to see her CO, Como Carpathia and the Yeoman there as well. As an extra bonus, Adm Arayuss was also standing with them. It was going to be a good launch for Sutherland, she could sense nothing but positive feelings from everyone, which pleased her.

Lt. Commander Elbrun: Hello Captain, Counselor Kestra Elbrun reporting in.

As the Counselor waited on Capt Marino to respond, she nodded and smiled to the Admiral, Commodore and the Yeoman. Kestra could sense the Captain was very happy to have them standing with him as he greeted his Senior Staff while they reported in and boarded Sutherland. That was her plan as well after Capt Marino responded.
