Bridge - Deck 1  Reply with quote

As the Captain was thinking about what to do regarding the weapon systems, Ajay laughed at what the CO said about applying the parking brake. With the Maneuvering Thrusters and Inertial Dampening System offline, that pretty much summed up what a parking brake would ensue. Not wanting to interfere with Capt Little’s thinking, LtCmdr Centares let Cmdr Cypher know they were essentially parked.

Lt. Commander Centares: Commander Cypher, we’re as parked as we’re going to be.

With the Flight Control Station now being used to just monitor the immediate area, there didn’t appear to be anything worthy of reporting to the CO or XO. The Captain did say LtCmdr Centares could take a break, so he contemplated whether or not he should use this time to go to the lavatory. Ajay had been holding in the need to urinate since Jo’Kla killed himself on the Bridge. But with all that had been happening, there was no way LtCmdr Centares was going to leave the Command Deck to use the lavatory during a time like that.

Lt. Commander Centares: If you don’t mind, Commander…I need to use the lavatory. I won’t be long. I’ve been holding it since Jo’Kla went berserk and then killed himself.

The Chief Flight Control Officer waited on permission to leave the Bridge from Cmdr Cypher since Capt Little was still thinking about what to do regarding the weapon systems. Since charged weapons can be detected by the sensors of other vessels, Ajay thought it was a no brainer to just completely take them offline since Event Horizon was on Gray Alert. If they had to be rigged for silent running, leaving the weapons fully charged would attract more attention than leaving the exterior lighting activated.

The CO nodded towards the Sec/Tac Station.

Capt Little: Deactivate the weapons, but leave a quick start on the Phaser Array should we need them, Mr. Graham.

The Captain nodded towards the Chief Flight Control Officer.

Capt Little: As of now, Mr. Centares, you're off duty. Take a trip to the Mess Hall if you so wish, well call you should we need a ride out of here.

Lewis now only wondered how things were progressing in the Cargo Bay and the deactivation of the warp bomb.

Peter did as Capt Little ordered and deactivated the Phaser Arrays and Torpedo Bays. LtCmdr Graham programmed his console to power up the Phasers to full at the touch of one button. That way if a threat presented itself, Event Horizon wouldn’t be completely defenseless. The Chief Sec/Tac Officer let the Captain know his order was followed and that he planned on a fast powering up of the Phaser Arrays.

Lt. Commander Graham: Aye, Captain. I programmed the Phasers to be at full power at the touch of a button here at my station. That way we’re not completely defenseless in the event of a threat, Sir.

The Lieutenant Commander relaxed in his chair behind his console as the tension built on what was going on with the bomb on the Warp Core. Peter wanted to hear from MCpt Lopez on what their progress was, if any. The silence from the team working on the detonator meant they had to be giving their full concentration on hacking Jo’Kla’s PADD he brought with him aboard Event Horizon.

Pleased that Capt Little made the decision to deactivate all the weapon systems, Ajay knew the Captain made the right choice. Since the CO was no longer in deep thought over a decision, LtCmdr Centares felt a little guilty for aiming his question to leave for the lavatory at Cmdr Cypher. Capt Little didn’t appear to be holding a grudge, so that was a relief. Now, about that trip to the lavatory…

Lt. Commander Centares: I won’t be long, Captain. Since you don’t have a Yeoman anymore, if you need anything while I’m off duty, please don’t hesitate to call.

Ajay rose up from his seat behind the Flight Control Station and quickly exited the Bridge from the Deck 1 Access Doors then went down the corridor to his Quarters which was also on Deck 1 and entered. LtCmdr Centares went to his lavatory and relieved himself before walking over to his replicator in order to get himself a beverage. Once Ajay obtained it, he took a seat at his desk and began going over all the schematics of Event Horizon again. That way the Chief Flight Control Officer would have all the necessary knowledge of maneuvering the ship in the event they needed to leave Moon X in a hurry.

Sickbay - Deck 3  Reply with quote

With his abdomen still tender from being stabbed with Jo’Kla’s dagger, Jayden tried sitting up on the Biobed and found the pain being still quite severe. Looking around Sickbay, the Lieutenant JG saw Dr. Tudismaque over by the patient display screen on the wall. The Chief Science Officer wondered what happened since he collapsed on the Bridge so he called out to the Doctor.

Lt. JG DeGrazzio: Doctor? What’s been happening since the incident on the Bridge? The ship doesn’t feel right and I don’t hear the sound of the engines, are we stopped someplace? Are we back at Starbase 34? Please, fill me in Doc…

Jayden waited to hear an update from Dr. Tudismaque on everything the Doctor knew happened since the incident on the Command Deck with Jo’Kla. The Lieutenant JG wanted to know if the Klingon had been taken into custody, so that he could possibly speak with him in the Brig. It really bothered the Chief Science Officer that the Yeoman stabbed him so arbitrarily, like it meant nothing to kill him for trying to save Event Horizon. This was something Jayden really found difficult to grasp since he thought of Jo’Kla as a friend.

The Doctor quickly walked over to Lt. JG DeGrazzio and used his Medical Tricorder to scan the Lieutenant JG’s abdomen to make sure all was well as he filled the Chief Science Officer in on all that occurred. Dr. Tudismaque didn’t hold anything back since he knew Jayden would figure it out on his own anyway and Jacques didn’t want to come off as a liar.

Lt. JG Tudismaque: Well, after Jo’Kla stabbed you he announced that he killed Professor Brewer, I just haven’t figured out how yet. Then before Jo’Kla stabbed himself so he couldn’t be taken into custody, he said he was doing this for the Alliance, so that means he was from the Mirror Universe we were heading for. The TDD was set on randomize and the Captain ordered the ship be brought to a halt, which caused the device to seized up. So we’re stuck in a universe and we’ve got no idea which one we are in. Now on top of all that, a bomb was found on the Warp Core and Captain Lopez, Lieutenant Parra, Petty Officer Florenté and Corporal Hudson are in Cargo Bay 4 with an alien PADD discovered in Jo’Kla’s cabin that appears to be the detonator. They’re trying to disarm the bomb in an isolated location, which is why they’re in the cargo bay. The explosive itself cannot be removed manually from the core, or even beamed off the ship. So the core has been shut down and vented of plasma so if it detonates, it will only damage the core’s casing which can be repaired. As for now, we’ve landed on a moon in the Trivas System and gone to Gray Alert to avoid detection from any ships in the area.

Dr. Tudismaque finished running his scans on Lt. JG DeGrazzio and gave the results aloud…

Lt. JG Tudismaque: As for you, Lieutenant, you’re mending just fine but you’ll have some discomfort from the wound for a while, but I can give you something for that. You lost a lot of blood on the Bridge and the Turbolifts weren’t functioning so the Captain and I carried you here from the Bridge using the Jeffries Tubes. We had a choice of saving you or trying to resuscitate Jo’Kla, so naturally we saved the one we cared about the most. How are you feeling about what happened to you though?

Event Horizon’s Chief Medical Officer waited to hear what the Lieutenant JG had to say about everything he was just told and to learn the extent of the trauma he endured mentally from the ordeal with Jo’Kla. Jacques wasn’t an actual psychiatrist but he did take some mental health classes at the learning annex at Starfleet Medical before graduating from the Academy. If there appeared to be any signs of PTSD, the Doctor would delay returning Lt. JG DeGrazzio back to active duty. Jacques didn’t want to release Jayden until he knew for sure he was going to be alright mentally, even though he knew he would be fine physically. But Dr. Tudismaque wanted to hear from the Lieutenant JG directly before doing anything else.

Jayden was stunned by all that occurred while he was out of commission! He was bothered by what happened between Jo’Kla and himself, but getting Event Horizon’s crew rescued was of paramount importance to him. The Chief Science Officer knew he needed to get to work on the destination terminal on the TDD so he could find out where they were and possibly rig up a transdimensional beacon to send a distress call since the TDD was no longer functional.

Lt. JG DeGrazzio: Well Doc, my feelings are hurt by what Jo’Kla did to me, but now that he’s dead, it’s pretty much resolved. What I need to do is get to work on finding out where we are and maybe getting a beacon setup so we can contact SB34 and possibly get us rescued. I won’t be able to do that lying on a Biobed, crying about how Jo’Kla did me wrong. That Klingon bastard didn’t want us to report on what was going on in the Mirror Universe, nor did he want us to make it home. So…my best revenge would be to get us back to SB34 and report on what he did to us. I’d also like to make sure Professor Brewer is brought back so he can be interred in his family’s cemetery in Georgia. As for Jo’Kla, I’d like to send his body back to the Alliance in the Mirror Universe in a Tri-Cobalt Torpedo!

The Lieutenant JG laughed at his comment regarding Jo’Kla, before holding his stomach and groaning from the pain.

Lt. JG DeGrazzio: Ouch! How about something for the pain, Doc? I really need to get out of here and start working on finding out where we are and getting us rescued.

The Chief Science Officer waited on Dr. Tudismaque’s decision on releasing him from Sickbay. Jayden really wanted to find out where they were and get started on the beacon to signal SB34 to let them know what happened on their mission to the Mirror Universe. They also needed to know about Jo’Kla and how he had to of received assistance to be able to become a member of Event Horizon’s crew. There was no way Jo’Kla just put on a Starfleet uniform at the rank of Ensign and volunteered to be Capt Little’s Yeoman. The odds of that happening were astronomical to the Nth Degree.

Dr. Tudismaque agreed with everything Lt. JG DeGrazzio had said and sensed no deception in trying to hide any signs of PTSD. Jacques also wanted to make sure the Professor made it home to Georgia via his brother, Dr. Brewer. The Doctor also wanted to perform a toxicology exam of Prof Brewer’s body to see how Jo’Kla was able to murder the Professor so secretly.

Lt. JG Tudismaque: I agree with you, Jayden. I’d like to bring the Professor back to his family as well. Since you’re not showing any signs of PTSD from your incident with Jo’Kla and I can give you something to ease your abdominal pain, I’ll release you and inform the Captain that you’re ready for active duty again.

Tapping his Combadge, Jacques contacted the Bridge…

Lt. JG Tudismaque: Sickbay to Bridge, Dr. Tudismaque here! I’m releasing Lieutenant DeGrazzio so he can return to active duty. Do you have any orders for him? I’m sure he wants to get started right away.

The Doctor, as well as Lt. JG DeGrazzio, listened for Capt Little’s response from the Bridge. While waiting, Dr. Tudismaque grabbed a Hypo from one of the shelves near the Biobed the Lieutenant JG was lying on and set it for a moderate amount of pain reliever and injected Jayden in the side of this neck. The amount of the medication given should last the Chief Science Officer at least 6 hours. If Lt. JG DeGrazzio’s pain returned, he could return for another dosage after the time had elapsed.

The Captain was totally aghast as the Chief Medical Officer's voice came over the Bridge speakers, he turned immediately to the Operations Console.

Capt Little: Mr. Mitchell, you did send the Silent Running orders to ALL departments, correct?

While he awaited a reply from Lt. Mitchell, he tapped a few buttons and overrode the security on the vessels internal communications system and promptly deactivated it from the center console near the Command Chair. The Security Console, manned by Lt. Graham would show a security override in progress. The CO turned to look over at him to give the nod to let Peter know to approve the override.

Cole was bewildered over why the Captain was being so curt with him. Of course the Lieutenant followed Capt Little’s order and sent the message to every department head’s terminal. The Chief Operations Officer responded to the Captain to let him know his ordered was indeed followed.

Lt. Mitchell: Captain, I sent the message to each department head’s terminal. Dr. Tudismaque must not have read his message yet. He must’ve been too occupied with Lieutenant DeGrazzio’s condition. My apologies, I should’ve anticipated that…Sir.

The Lieutenant felt really bad that Dr. Tudismaque called the Bridge using the standard communication method that he was instructed in the message not to do. Cole wondered if Capt Little was going to respond to the Doctor regarding Lt. JG DeGrazzio’s return to duty. Surely Dr. Tudismaque would be curious as to why he did not get a response from the Bridge.
