The Captain waited until he was fully on 2 feet again before following the inquisitor.

Capt Little: I'll tell you what we know, but first a request of I may...

Lewis sat across the table from Tollus and continued on...

Capt Little: First Contact missions require at least two officers in attendance. I'd like your permission to contact my ship and begin these talks the way they should have started. I can assure you, there will be no weapons or Tricorders to scan your infrastructure, Inquisitor.

The Captain now waited on the Inquisitor to approve or deny his request.

The Inquisitor nodded in approval and tapped a button on his wrist guard that was now visible for the first time to the Captain. This made it possible for the human’s communication device to function as it normally would with contacting his vessel on the surface.

Inquisitor Dak’Aar: You may now contact your vessel, Captain.

Tollus waited to hear what the human was going to say to his vessel. This was going to be his first time making contact with life forms from another universe. A truly historic day in the history of the Ba’Dassian Confederacy! Inquisitor Dak’Aar was very excited about what was coming up next.

The Captain nodded obligingly before tapping on his Combadge.

Capt Little: Captain to Event Horizon... Stand down whatever you're doing and pull the files for a First Contact scenario... Mr. Cypher, report to the Transporter Room, and bring Lieutenant DeGrazzio along... Bring no equipment with you, this is of paramount importance!

Lewis waited for the reply from his First Officer as he turned back to Tollus.

Capt Little: You have no objections I assume since you already met my Science Officer?

The CO waited on replies from both the Inquisitor and Event Horizon.

Tollus nodded and cracked a smile on his face as he thought about the Science Officer and how hairy he was in comparison to Capt Little.

Inquisitor Dak’Aar: By all means, bring whomever you wish Captain.

The Inquisitor waited to see the First Officer and Science Officer arrive in the chamber where the Captain and he were sitting. Getting back up, Tollus went and created 2 more chairs at the table so the 4 of them could sit and chat comfortably.

The XO almost stained himself when he heard Capt Little’s voice over the Com System! Thom told LtCmdr Graham to secure from Red Alert and to lower the Shields and deactivate all the weapon systems, as well as informing Lt. JG DeGrazzio to meet him in Transporter Room 1.

Cmdr Cypher: Captain! We’ll be right down, but I don’t think the Transporter can get us through all that rock! Peter, secure from Red Alert and power down the Shields and weapon systems. Cypher to Lieutenant DeGrazzio! Meet me in Transporter Room One on the double!

The Commander looked over at the Flight Control Console and issued LtCmdr Centares a final order before leaving the Bridge.

Cmdr Cypher: Ajay, you have the Bridge till either Captain Little or I return. Follow up with Mr. Florenté on his repairs to the core. As soon as it’s running, we’ll be back at full power for everything. Since they know we’re here, we don’t need to remain dark anymore. I’ll try to keep you updated on our progress down there. Enjoy the CO’s chair, Mr. Centares!

Thom exited the Bridge and used the Turbolift to go to Deck 2 and proceeded to the left out of the Turbolift and made another left before reaching the doors to Transporter Room 1. Upon entering the XO stood on the pad and waited on the arrival of Lt. JG DeGrazzio. Since the Lieutenant JG was working on the TDD on Deck 4, it wouldn’t be long before he showed up with the usual smile on his face.

Peter did as the Commander ordered and cancelled Red Alert, lowered the Shields and deactivated the Phasers and Torpedo Bays. Since LtCmdr Centares was now in charge of the Bridge since Cmdr Cypher departed for Transporter Room 1, the Sec/Tac Officer reported his actions to the temporary CO.

Lt. Commander Graham: Shields lowered, weapons offline, Sir!

Even though Peter was the same rank as LtCmdr Centares, the Flight Control Officer was now in charge of the ship and calling him Sir was the appropriate thing to do. LtCmdr Graham still monitored the area for any alien vessels coming into targeting range just in the unlikely event some hostiles came into the vicinity.

Securing the Flight Control Station, LtCmdr Centares rose up from behind it and walked over to the CO’s chair and took a seat. Hearing the statement from LtCmdr Graham made Ajay fully realize he was now in command of Event Horizon for the time being and that if something happened deep within Moon X, it would be up to the temporary CO to get the crew home. With that stirring in the mind of LtCmdr Centares, he responded to LtCmdr Graham.

Lt. Commander Centares: Thank you, Mr. Graham.

The Lieutenant Commander looked over to the Ops Station and addressed Lt. Mitchell regarding the power allocation.

Lt. Commander Centares: Mr. Mitchell, reallocate power to the Sensor Arrays so we can use the Long Range Scanners to keep an eye on what’s going on in this sector as well as below the surface. Since the Captain was able to contact us, his Combadge must be operational, see if you can get a location on him in the subterranean labyrinth.

As Ajay waited on Lt. Mitchell’s response, he tapped his own Combadge and called down to Engineering.

Lt. Commander Centares: Centares to Engineering! Mr. Florenté, what’s the status on the repairs? The Captain has communicated with us and requested Commander Cypher and Lieutenant DeGrazzio to join him for a First Contact Protocol. So it appears that things are going well for him at this time.

The temporary CO leaned back in the chair and used the Center Console to monitor the power allocation screen to see what systems needed power now that the Phasers and Torpedo Bays where offline. If there was anything else that needed power, it would be displayed for Ajay to see and he would let Lt. Mitchell know what needed to be done. This is a comfortable chair! LtCmdr Centares thought to himself as he waited to hear back from PO3 Florenté.

Cole did as LtCmdr Centares asked and began allocating the extra available power to the Sensor Arrays and intensified the search for Capt Little's Combadge signal, as well as Long Range Sensors for anything in the sector. After a few moments, the Lieutenant found the Captain in one of the chambers in the labyrinth and let the temporary CO know immediately.

Lt. Mitchell: I've located the Captain, Sir! I'll put it up on the Main Viewer for you to see!

The Chief Ops Officer put the map of the subterranean network of tunnels and chambers up on the Main Viewscreen along with a red flashing dot to indicate the location of Capt Little. The Lieutenant wondered what the next move was going to be, while also thinking about what PO3 Florenté was going to report about his work on the core. Cole was very pleased to hear from the Captain and was relieved to hear that he was requesting First Contact information. The Chief Ops Officer wondered what kind of species Capt Little had encountered and if they would be able to offer any assistance.

As Jamie worked with speed and efficiency, the core casing was now completely repaired. The Petty Officer was just about to tell Cwmn Flores to begin the start up sequence when he heard LtCmdr Centares from the Bridge. Jamie was surprised to here that Cmdr Cypher and Lt. JG DeGrazzio were going down into the moon's depths, but he was a lowly Engineer and a non commissioned officer at that. So it was not his place to question what they did. The Petty Officer responded to the temporary CO on the Bridge.

PO3 Florenté: Florenté to Bridge, I just finished repairs on the core casing. We're about to begin the start up sequence right now. It should only take a few minutes to get the core working at nominal. This Coaxial Warp Core and it's injectors operate a lot faster than standard Warp Cores on other vessels. So I'll be getting to it right now. Let me know if you're experiencing any problems. I'll let you know when the core is up and running so Lieutenant Mitchell can power up all the secondary systems.

The Chief Engineer didn't close the channel if there was something else LtCmdr Centares had to say or add. Jamie was worried about Capt Little, Cmdr Cypher and Lt. JG DeGrazzio getting taken hostage since it wasn't like it never happened before. They were in a foreign universe to them; so they needed to be far more cautious. If it were up to PO3 Florenté, they would be having their First Contact meeting aboard Event Horizon in the Conference Room up on Deck 1. But it wasn't, so what could he do?

The temporary CO was happy to hear that the core was repaired and would be powered up very soon! Ajay let PO3 Florenté know that he did a good job on the repairs before looking at the Captain's location on the Main Viewscreen that Lt. Mitchell displayed.

Lt. Commander Centares: Excellent work, Mr. Florenté! Don't let me interrupt your start up sequence, Centares out!

The Lieutenant Commander gazed at the schematic of the subterranean labyrinth on the Main Viewer, particularly at the location of Capt Little and wondered if Cmdr Cypher and Lt. JG DeGrazzio would be able to beam down through all that rock, even though they had the Captain's coordinates now.

Lt. Commander Centares: Mr. Mitchell, will Commander Cypher and Lieutenant DeGrazzio be able to beam down to the Captain's location through all that rock without the modifications to the Transporter?

Ajay waited to hear back from Lt. Mitchell on the possibility of the XO and Chief Science Officer beaming down on their own or whether they would need whatever transportation device which brought the Captain down there. They never even had time to modify the Transporter so hopefully this problem could be resolved quickly without leaving Cmdr Cypher and Lt. JG DeGrazzio wondering whether or not they would be joining Capt Little.
