Tollus was truly amazed by the detail Lt. JG DeGrazzio placed into the map! Their Federation was so much larger than he imagined, it was such a shame the human home world was laid to waste such a long time ago. Seeing how there was no Emerald Chain in their universe really pleased the Inquisitor to no end. They were such a rotten faction in this universe and any universe without them had to be better for it.

Inquisitor Dak’Aar: The Lieutenant did a truly spectacular job on the map and all the detail is amazing! Starbase 34 looks like a truly interesting place as well! I have never eaten at a Klingon restaurant before so I have no idea what Wistan Gagh is, Captain. Perhaps you can describe it to me?

The Inquisitor waited on the Captain to describe what his favorite Klingon dish was. With all the cultures combined in the Federation, all the foods there must really be exotic! Tollus looked forward to hearing more about all the dishes they had available. If it were possible to sample them, Inquisitor Dak’Aar would be greatly honored for the opportunity.

Before the Captain had a chance to finally describe Wistan Gagh to the Inquisitor, Thom noticed a surprised and horrified expression on the Inquisitor’s face! There had to be something seriously wrong on the display that Inquisitor Dak’Aar wore on his forearm, by the way he was gazing at it. The Commander was understandably curious as to what could be bothering the Inquisitor, so Thom expressing concern, made an inquiry…

Cmdr Cypher: Is something wrong, Inquisitor Dak’Aar? You look troubled.

The XO looked over towards the Captain who appeared to be oblivious to the expression on Inquisitor Dak’Aar’s face. Thom could see that Lt. JG DeGrazzio understood that something was happening and by the looks of the Inquisitor, it had to be a situation that was not going to be beneficial to anyone sitting here. The Commander braced himself for some troubling news as he sat there wondering why Capt Little was so lost in thought over his description of a plate of live worms.

The Inquisitor stared blankly at the display on the device he wore on his wrist in disbelief! The Emerald Chain must have detected the arrival of Event Horizon and they were coming in force to capture the vessel and the crew as well! This was horrible news for his newly found friends. With a heavy heart, Tollus explained what was going on just outside the Trivas System to those seated at the table with him.

Inquisitor Dak’Aar: The Emerald Chain has sent their Interceptors and Destroyers to capture your vessel. It is their intent to capture all of you and sell you off as slave labor and break your ship down for its technological advancements and reverse engineer them to advance their own ships.

The Ba’Dassian Inquisitor quickly got up from his seat at the table and went over to the main console to get a better reading on the ships approaching Trivadia Core. This flotilla of vessels must have been informed of the arrival of Event Horizon as soon as it appeared in their universe and decided it would be in their interest to capture the vessel for its technology. This would be a dangerous advantage for the Emerald Chain to have so Tollus had to do what he could to prevent it from happening. Even if that meant Inquisitor Dak'Aar would be sacrificing his own life in the process.

Inquisitor Dak’Aar: I need to send you back to your ship and you need to get out of this system as fast as you can. I operate this base alone and will self-destruct it to cover your escape. There is no way I am going to allow them to capture your vessel and enslave everyone aboard. I will transport you three to Event Horizon’s Bridge so that you can make a hasty retreat. I really appreciate all that you shared with me and I wish things could have been different.

Tollus waited to hear from any of Event Horizon’s officers seated at the table. The Inquisitor figured they may want to share the same sentiments and regrets for having to leave in such a hurry. While waiting to hear from them, Tollus used the teleportation device at his disposal to lock onto the officers from Event Horizon and then locked onto the Bridge where they would soon be appearing. Once Capt Little, Cmdr Cypher and Lt. JG DeGrazzio were safely aboard their own vessel, the Inquisitor would initiate the self-destruct which would destroy the entire moon in a large quantum infused explosion. It would blind the sensors of the approaching fleet of ships on their way to capture Event Horizon. This is what Tollus was willing to do to save his new friends and keep them from becoming slaves.

Jayden found what Inquisitor Dak’Aar said to be positively horrid! They ALL needed to leave here as soon as possible! There had to be a way for the self-destruct to have a time delay so the Inquisitor could escape with them aboard Event Horizon. There just had to be some kind of alternative to Inquisitor Dak’Aar giving up his life to die here when the moon exploded.

Lt. JG DeGrazzio: Inquisitor, isn’t there a time delay that can be set for the self-destruct so you can escape aboard Event Horizon with us? I don’t want to leave you behind, plus if you come with us, you can sample all the different foods we’ve got available from our Replicator. I’ll get to work on the transdimensional beacon as soon as we get back so we can get a message to our home and they can perhaps send us a solution on how to get back.

The Lieutenant JG looked over towards Capt Little and Cmdr Cypher for their reaction to his suggestion, as well as what Inquisitor Dak’Aar thought of it. This could be the opportunity they needed to give the Inquisitor a show of what Event Horizon could do in a pinch. The Captain still seemed to be distant to the situation, but the Commander was alert and could take charge in a moment’s notice. Jayden wondered what could be on Capt Little’s mind to keep him so occupied from speaking or issuing any orders about what to do in this apparent crisis caused by the Emerald Chain's fleet.

Thom thought about it for a moment and decided to put his voice behind Jayden’s and offer the Inquisitor the option of escaping with them. Capt Little still seemed to be distant and deep in thought, as if he wasn’t even aware of what was happening around him. If the Captain was going to remain this way, they were going to end up getting captured by the Emerald Chain. It was time for the XO to act and speak up on behalf of them all.

Cmdr Cypher: I agree with the Lieutenant, Inquisitor Dak’Aar. You are indeed welcome aboard Event Horizon. There’s an option for you to escape with us if you can set the self-destruct on a time delay. What do you say?

The Commander waited to hear what the Inquisitor had to say about setting a timer for the self-destruct and escaping with them aboard Event Horizon. Thom really hoped Inquisitor Dak’Aar didn’t have to stay behind and die in order for them to escape the Emerald Chain’s fleet. Perhaps with the Inquisitor’s assistance they can navigate to a safe place in this area of the galaxy. An area where they can hide from any adversaries that may have looking to capture Event Horizon and enslave the crew.

Tollus did not have to think on it for very long. The offer to go with Event Horizon and its crew was indeed ideal. The self-destruct of the moon could be set on a time delay, but the Inquisitor wanted to make sure the ship was ready to depart the system before the moon detonated. In order to do so, Tollus would have to send the Captain, Commander and Lieutenant JG back to Event Horizon so they could make the preparations needed for a quick departure.

Inquisitor Dak’Aar: That option is very favorable to me. Before I set the self-destruct, I would like to make sure your vessel is ready to depart the Trivas System. I am going to return you three to Event Horizon to prepare for departure. As soon as you are ready, let me know and I will set the self-destruct and teleport to your ship so we can escape the vile clutches of the Emerald Chain.

The Inquisitor used the console to teleport Capt Little, Cmdr Cypher and Lt. JG DeGrazzio back to Event Horizon’s Transporter Room 1 on Deck 2. Once done, Tollus brought up the controls to set the self-destruct to detonate the moon but held off entering the amount of time needed for the countdown. All Tollus had to do now was wait for the call from the Terran vessel to inform the Inquisitor they were ready to depart and he would set the self-destruct and teleport himself over to Event Horizon and escape with his new friends.

Transporter Room 1 - Deck 2 - USS Event Horizon  Reply with quote

Thom tapped his Combadge as soon as Capt Little, Lt. JG DeGrazzio and himself appeared in Transporter Room 1. The XO called to the Bridge to let LtCmdr Centares know to get Event Horizon ready to depart the moon right away!

Cmdr Cypher: Cypher to Bridge, Ajay we need to dust off right away! Get the engines ready to go to Warp ASAP! We’ll be taking a guest with us; I’m on my way to the Bridge now. The Captain seems to be suffering from some kind of brain lock so I’m going to have Jayden escort him to Sickbay and then get right to work on converting the TDD into a beacon to let them know at home what’s going on here.

The XO looked over at Lt. JG DeGrazzio and nodded for him to make his way to Sickbay and fill Dr. Tudismaque in on the Captain’s condition.

Cmdr Cypher: The Captain is in your hands now, Jayden. Bring him to Dr. Tudismaque and let him know what’s going on, that way he can help Captain Little with something. After that, get to work on the TDD and let me know when it’s ready to send a message home.

The Commander noticed that Lt. Mitchell and PO3 Florenté were standing there with their mouth gaping open at the surprise of their arrival. Clearly, they were working on getting the Transporter capable of beaming them up from the interior of the moon. Since it was no longer necessary, Thom addressed them both before departing for the Bridge.

Cmdr Cypher: Jamie, go to Engineering and prepare us to go to Warp as soon as possible, this moon will be detonating soon! We’ve got hostile ships approaching and our guest is going to explode the moon to create a way for us to escape unnoticed. Cole, you’ll accompany me to the Bridge and resume your duties at the Ops Console. I want updates on the location of the hostile vessels as they approach our location.

Thom made for the Transporter Room doors and waited on Cole to join him before making his way to the Turbolift and arriving on the Bridge. While standing there, the XO watched as Jayden and Jamie helped Capt Little off the Transporter Pad. It really was a shame that the Captain decided to turn his brain off to avoid the responsibility of being the commanding officer aboard Event Horizon. But be that as it may, Thom would be here to save the day by doing whatever was necessary to bring the crew to safety and get a message back to SB34 about their current situation.

Jayden lead the Captain out of Transporter Room 1 with the help of PO3 Florenté holding the CO’s other arm. Together they went to the Turbolift and took it down one deck to Deck 3 where the Lieutenant JG exited the lift with Capt Little and the Petty Officer could continue down to Engineering so he could get Event Horizon ready to depart. Jayden gave a nod of thanks to the Chief Engineer before he brought the Captain into Sickbay and laid him down on a Biobed so Dr. Tudismaque could examine him.

Lt. JG DeGrazzio: Doctor! Commander Cypher had me bring Captain Little here for you to examine. He’s been showing signs of being in a trance-like state and wants you to get to work on him right away. We’re about to take off and leave the system right away, there’s a hostile fleet of ships coming and they want to capture us for our technology and use us as slaves! So we really need to get out of here as soon as possible. I’m going to get over to the TDD and setup the beacon so we can signal back to Starbase 34 and let them know what’s happening to us, so unless you have any questions for me, Doctor...I'll be on my way.

The Chief Science Officer waited for a response from the Doctor before leaving for the TDD Compartment on Deck 4, just in case Dr. Tudismaque had any questions regarding Capt Little’s condition. The beacon was really important, but getting the proper care for the Captain was too. If the Doctor didn’t have any further need for Lt. JG DeGrazzio to remain, he was going to run to the TDD Compartment as fast as he could, with the use of the Turbolift to Deck 4 of course.

The Petty Officer entered Main Engineering and immediately went over to his Main Systems Display table and opened all the proper energy flows to the engine systems. Both the Impulse Engine and Warp Nacelles had full power available. The Coaxial Warp Core was purring like a kitten which impressed the young Chief Engineer. Tapping his Combadge, Jamie called to the Bridge to let them know they had full power available to the engine systems.

PO3 Florenté: Florenté to Bridge, you’ve got full power available to the engines! The Impulse Engine and Warp Nacelles are fully charged and ready to go!

The Chief Engineer kept the com-channel to the Bridge open just in case they needed any changes to the power supply coming from the Coaxial Warp Drive. Jamie was looking forward to getting out of the area before the hostile fleet of ships arrived. The Petty Officer did not want for them to lose any lives while trying to escape. Life was even more precious to Jamie since his friend, Lt. JG DeGrazzio, almost died at the hands of that Klingon from the Mirror Universe.

Ajay was sitting in the CO’s chair when he heard from Cmdr Cypher and quickly rose and walked over to his seat at the Flight Control Console and resumed his station. LtCmdr Centares logged in and began the pre-flight checklist, making sure Event Horizon was ready to leave the surface of the desolate moon. A few moments into the checklist, Ajay heard PO3 Florenté’s voice from Main Engineering informing them that the engines were at the ready! Since the com-channel was still open, LtCmdr Centares thanked the Chief Engineer for his diligence and announced to the entire ship they were getting ready to depart the surface.

Lt. Commander Centares: Thank you, Jamie! Attention Event Horizon crew! We’ll be lifting off momentarily! Standby!

The Chief Flight Control Officer finished the pre-flight checklist and was now ready to lift Event Horizon off the surface of the moon. Using the console in a manner showing his years of training, Ajay brought the ship several meters above the moon’s surface and retracted the landing gear. Using the Maneuvering Thrusters, LtCmdr Centares brought Event Horizon away from the small moon at an altitude of over a thousand meters before standing by and waiting for Cmdr Cypher to get to the Bridge. The Impulse Engine was standing by to blast them away from the dangerous situation that was rapidly approaching. Ajay just waited on the word from the XO to punch it and they were on their way out of the Trivas System.
