Transporter Room 1 - Deck 4

As Chase and Mr. Osaka were chit-chatting over nothing specific, the XO heard the call from Counselor Ho in Holodeck 1. The Commander was pleased to hear that the children had eaten and were resting in the beds Ens Garcia provided for them. The XO tapped his Combadge to respond to LtCmdr Ho and let her know it was alright for her to stay with the sleeping child refugees.

Cmdr Ashborn: Ashborn here! That's great to hear Counselor! Staying with the children is a good idea, I'll give the Captain the update. Ashborn out!

The XO tapped his Combadge again, but called out to Capt Daqtorgh on the Bridge of Whitestar.

Cmdr Ashborn: Ashborn to Captain Daqtorgh! The first forty children are in a bunk-room in Holodeck 1 so they can stay together. They've been fed and they're all resting now in their beds. Counselor Ho is going to stay with the children while they sleep, just in case any wake up disorientated and not know where they are. They could even experience nightmares with all they've been through. The next group of refugees will be sent up to one of the other ships, so we're safe for now.

As the Commander waited to hear back from the Captain, Chase continued his conversation with Chief Osaka regarding their similar tastes in Japanese cuisine. Since the Transporter Chief himself was of Japanese heritage and loved to cook, he began sharing some of the recipes for tempura chicken that he was sure the XO would really enjoy. When the Commander had the time, he looked forward to having some of the Japanese cuisine with Chief Osaka they had been discussing.

Bridge - Deck 1

The Captain was very happy to finally get an update from Cmdr Ashborn regarding the Bajoran children. Daqtorgh tapped his Combadge to respond to his XO in Transporter Room 1 on Deck 4.

Capt Daqtorgh: Daqtorgh to Commander Ashborn! Thank you Commander, you did a great job! You may return to the Bridge!

Daqtorgh was wondering on the status of his Chief Engineer down on the planet installing the lightning deterrent array upon the ISSCV. So the CO tapped his Combadge once more.

Capt Daqtorgh: Daqtorgh to Commander Cypher! What is the update on the array's installation?

The Captain also wanted to let his Yeoman know that he was very proud of him, so once again Daqtorgh tapped his Combadge...

Capt Daqtorgh: Daqtorgh to Ensign Garcia! Awesome job, Yeoman! I am so proud of you! When you can make the scariest Klingon smile, you bring yourself, this ship and your Captain great honor.

Now that he was finished using his Combadge, the CO spoke to the Chief Operations Officer...

Capt Daqtorgh: Mr. Mitchell, open a hailing frequency to Infiniti and put the Commodore on the Main Viewscreen!

Now that everything that Daqtorgh needed to say was said, the CO waited for the responses from his crew. The Klingon Captain was so very proud of his crew and how well the child refugees were being taken care of in Holodeck 1 down on Deck 3. The CO was very pleased with the idea of using the Holodeck to create a bunk-room for the children so they could stay together. Once Daqtorgh had the opportunity, he would praise whomever came up with the idea. Since the CO didn't know, he'd have to wait until he was informed of it.

Transporter Room 1 - Deck 4

When Chase heard back from Capt Daqtorgh, he smiled and patted Mr. Osaka on the back, nodding a goodbye for now as he responded to the Captain through his Combadge.

Cmdr Ashborn: Aye, Captain! I'm on my way!

Shaking Chief Osaka's hand, the XO left Transporter Room 1 and made his way down the corridor to the Turbolift and took it up to the Bridge where he exited. Smiling at the officers there, the Commander strolled over to the XO's chair and took a seat. Now that Chase was back on the Bridge, he could see first hand what was going on up here and no longer had to speculate from the Transporter Room.

Exterior of ISSCV - Extraction Site - New Bajor

As Thom was working on the lightning deterrent array on the roof of the ISSCV, he heard the call from Capt Daqtorgh over his Combadge. Even though it was pouring rain, the Commander put down his tools in a raised area of the top of the InterStellar Space Cargo Vehicle so he could respond to the Captain.

Cmdr Cypher: Cypher here, Captain! I'm on the roof of the I-Double-S-C-V, in the pouring rain, installing the array right now, Sir! I should be done with it in about thirty minutes! Ensign Wilson is inside doing the software installation as we speak. From what I can see up here, Captain, there are no Xenomorphs approaching at this time. So other than the weather being genuinely crappy, we're doing good down here.

The Chief Engineer picked up his tools and continued to fasten the array to the top of the ISSCV while waiting to hear if Capt Daqtorgh had anything left to ask. Thom wasn't sure if the Marines would be able to operate the lightning deterrent system, so he wondered if Ens Wilson should remain aboard with the Marines where he could return to Infiniti and then reunite with the Chief Engineer when Whitestar returned to SB34.

Bridge - Deck 1 - USS Whitestar

Daqtorgh was pleased to hear there were no Xenomorphs in the vicinity and that Cmdr Cypher was working on the array with only 30 minutes to go. With his assistant, Ens Wilson doing the software installation, things were looking really good down there. The Captain shared some praise to his Chief Engineer as he waited to hear back if there was anything else Cmdr Cypher wished to add.

Capt Daqtorgh: Keep up the good work, Mr. Cypher! If you need anything else, do not hesitate to contact the ship. We will be standing by...

As the CO listened for a response from Cmdr Cypher, Daqtorgh also waited on a reply from Ens Garcia. This Captain was very proud of his crew and their attention to their duties they took seriously. With the 40 children in their beds, safe from the clutches of the Xenomorphs, Daqtorgh hoped they dreamed well and did not suffer from any nightmares. The CO took special pride in the compassion Counselor Ho was taking with the boys and girls that were most likely orphaned in such a horrific way. If there was any adults found, Daqtorgh would be sure to have them reunited with their children on SB34.

Thom was happy to hear the words of praise from Capt Daqtorgh as he continued to fasten the array to the top of the ISSCV. This is when Cmdr Cypher decided to inform the Captain about leaving Ens Wilson with the Marines so he could operate the lightning deterrent system.

Cmdr Cypher: Captain, I'm thinking of having Ensign Wilson remain with Infiniti's Marines so he can operating the lightning deterrent system for the I-Double-S-C-V. The Ensign can reunite with us back on Starbase 34.

The Chief Engineer continued working at a steady pace in the rain while attaching the array to the top of the ISSCV. While doing so, Thom listened for a response from Capt Daqtorgh on leaving Randy behind to operate the system for the Marines to have a safe trip back to the USS Infiniti.

Bridge - Deck 1 - USS Whitestar

The Captain nodded his head in approval at Cmdr Cypher's assessment of having Ens Wilson remain behind with the Marines so he could operate the software for the lightning deterrent system aboard the ISSCV. Daqtorgh could not foresee there being any problems with retrieving the Engineering Assistant from Infiniti once they returned to SB34.

Capt Daqtorgh: Commander Cypher, I like the idea! We can retrieve Ensign Wilson from Infiniti back on Starbase 34! I'll inform the Commodore! Daqtorgh out!

Daqtorgh looked over to the Sec/Tac Station and addressed Lt. Wolf.

Capt Daqtorgh: Lieutenant Wolf, we'll be waiting on Commander Cypher to beam up before you recall the Security Team from the surface. That way we know our Chief Engineer will make it back safely.

The CO relaxed in his seat on the Bridge as he continued to wait to hear back from Ens Garcia in Holodeck 1 on Deck 3. Things were going really well and the Captain was pleased with the decision Cmdr Cypher made regarding leaving Ens Wilson behind to operation the system for the Marines on their way back to Infiniti. It would insure their safe return to their vessel and prevent them from any further lightning strikes from the storm.

The Lieutenant understood fully what the Captain had said and simply acknowledged it.

Lt. Wolf: Aye, Sir!

The Chief Sec/Tac Officer maintained his station and monitored his Security Team from his Console, this way if there were any Xenomorphs approaching, Kyle would be able to warn Capt Daqtorgh that the Landing Party was in a clear and present danger.

Holodeck 1 - Deck 3

When Luis heard the Captain praise him over his Combadge, it brought a big smile to the Ensign's face. The Yeoman was not sure if Capt Daqtorgh would prefer Ens Garcia to stay with LtCmdr Ho and the Bajoran children in the bunk-room, or return to the Bridge until another assignment arose. Luis tapped his Combadge to respond to Capt Daqtorgh

Ens Garcia: Garcia here! Thank you very much, Captain! Would you like me to return to the Bridge and await another assignment or stay here with the Counselor and the sleeping children?

The Yeoman waited for the Captain to respond to his inquiry as he looked over the sleeping child refugees. None of them appeared to be having any restless dreams, which was probably due to them being completely exhausted from their last days on New Bajor. This also made Luis smile, knowing the children were completely safe and secure from those terrifying creatures.

Bridge - Deck 1

The Captain thought for a moment and decided it would be best for Ens Garcia to return to the Bridge, that way the Yeoman would be present when Daqtorgh spoke to Como Carpathia. Since the com channel was already open between them, there was no need for the Captain to tap his Combadge.

Capt Daqtorgh: Ensign Garcia, you completed your assignment with dignity, respect and honor. Please return to the Bridge, that way you can talk to the Commodore with me.

The CO knew that Lt. Mitchell would be getting Como Carpathia on the Main Viewscreen really soon, so it was good that the Yeoman was only down on Deck 3 and would be arriving on the Bridge very shortly. Since the seat to Daqtorgh's left was vacant, it would be the perfect place for his Yeoman to sit down and be part of the conversation with the Division 1 Commander.
