Bridge - Deck 1

Doing as Capt Calzada told him, Michaelangelo began the process of transporting the entire group of evacuees within the Transporter Enhancers to Holodeck 1. In a matter of moments, all 40 of the refugees were now in the Holodeck with Ens McKenna, Dr. Jovic and her medical personnel.

Lt. Commander Boffi: All forty refugees are now in Holodeck One, Captain. I'm waiting on confirmation from the surface when another group of forty will be ready, Sir.

The Chief Operations Officer kept an open channel with MCpt Lopez in the Marines' ISSCV inside the extraction area. That way Michaelangelo would know right away when there's another group of 40 ready to beam up. As soon as there was, LtCmdr Boffi would inform Capt Calzada immediately.

Holodeck 1 - Deck 4

Jeremy watched as the 40 refugees materialized in the Holodeck and looked around at where they were. All of them were dripping wet and all appeared to be between the ages of 6 and 13! The Ensign wasn't sure if Capt Calzada knew the refugees would be in that age range, so Jeremy tapped his Combadge to contact the Bridge.

Ens McKenna: McKenna to Captain Calzada! The evacuees have materialized safely here in Holodeck One, but they're all children! The range in age from six to thirteen, approximately. Dr. Jovic, her staff and I won't have any problems getting them changed and into the beds, but perhaps Counselor Arrayah could lend us a hand, Sir?

The Yeoman waited on a response from Capt Calzada as he started to help the younger children change from their wet clothes and towel off before putting on their warm, dry robes. The attire they were now wearing was a lot larger than the frames of their bodies, but that was because Jeremy wasn't expecting them all to be children. All of the kids seemed really happy to be aboard Oriskany, so Ens McKenna didn't foresee there being any problems. Now that all 40 of the children were wearing dry robes, it was up to Dr. Jovic and her staff to check the child refugees over for any injuries that needed treatment.

Bridge - Deck 1

David heard the call from his Yeoman and tapped his Combadge to reply to Ens McKenna. It was a good idea to have the Counselor there to help the children after all they just went through.

Capt Calzada: Calzada here! Great thinking, Ensign! I'll send Counselor Arrayah to the Holodeck right away! Thank you for letting me know we've got a bunch of children down there! I hope you can take care of them, Ensign! Calzada out!

The Captain was surprised there were no adults that beamed up with the first group of refugees from New Bajor. David heard from Como Carpathia there were over a thousand evacuees to beam up, so thinking of all of them being child refugees and being orphans as well was a horrific thing for them to deal with. Tapping his Combadge, the CO contacted the Counselor.

Capt Calzada: Calzada to Counselor Arrayah! You're needed in Holodeck One right away! Report to Yeoman McKenna when you arrive! Calzada out!

The CO knew having Counselor Arrayah there to comfort the children, along with Ens McKenna was the best Oriskany had to offer at this time. David knew that the Yeoman would provide them with anything they needed, as well as Dr. Jovic being there to provide the children with the best medical care they could possibly required.

Counselor's Office - Deck 8

Arrayah heard the voice of Capt Calzada over her Combadge and tapped it in order to respond to the Captain. The Counselor was curious what the need for her skills could be and realized she would have to seek out Yeoman McKenna to find out.

Lt. Commander Arrayah: Aye Captain, I’m on my way!

Leaving her office on Deck 8 gracefully, the Counselor made her way down the corridor and to the nearest Turbolift. Using the lift, LtCmdr Arrayah proceeded to Deck 4, where Holodeck 1 was located. Exiting the Turbolift, the Counselor walked briskly to the Holodeck and entered to see Dr. Jovic and her Medical Staff examining what appeared to be children! Among them was Yeoman McKenna, a child himself. Arrayah approached the Ensign and smiled as she looked down into his youthful eyes.

Lt. Commander Arrayah: How may I help here, Yeoman?

The Counselor looked around the Holodeck and saw all the bunk-beds along the walls and gathered the room was created to house 120 refugees from New Bajor. Being that this group of 40 seemed to be all children, Counselor Arrayah thought that perhaps the adults were sending the younglings up first to get them from the danger of the Xenomorph outbreak.

Holodeck 1 - Deck 4

Jeremy smiled at the Counselor as he told her what was going on in Holodeck 1. The Ensign was excited to be in charge of the room and explained as best he could to LtCmdr Arrayah how the children could use her assistance.

Ens McKenna: Thank you for coming, Counselor. I figured you could help us console the children and keep them comfortable as the Doctor examines them and I make them something to eat. Can you lend your skills, Counselor? I’m sure the children could use them.

The Yeoman stood there before the tall female and smiled, hoping she could jump right in on the task, that way Jeremy could ask the Computer to replicate some hot soup to help warm them up. Even though the children were out of the wet clothes and into dry robes, the Ensign figured they could use something warm in their bellies.

Arrayah smiled back at the young Yeoman as she responded to him. The Counselor certainly had her job cut out for her with all the bunk-beds in the Holodeck that would be filling up with children!

Lt. Commander Arrayah: You shall certainly have all the help I can give you, Mr. McKenna. I’ll start with these children right away.

The Counselor walked over to the group of children seated on the closest bunks and began speaking to them in a friendly manner. The young boys and girls seemed to be greatly relieved they were aboard Oriskany and out of the rain down below on the planet’s surface. Arrayah didn’t want to bring up their parents just yet as she wanted to focus primarily on the joy they were expressing by being on the Sovereign Class Starship.

Jeremy was thrilled Counselor Arrayah was able to talk with the children while the Yeoman went over to a replicator and made 40 bowls of vegetable soup with the Bajoran alphabet made from the noodles inside so the children had some fun while they consumed their hot meal. Placing all of the bowls on a large serving trays that held 20 bowls each, the Ensign slid them into a serving cart and brought the bowls of soup to the children and served them each a hot meal to help with their cold insides after standing in the rain, waiting to beam up from the surface.

Ens McKenna: Here you all go, enjoy some Bajoran Alphabet Soup! It's yummy for your tummy! It will help warm up your insides too!

When the last bowl was given to the last of the 40 children, Jeremy was happy to have provided them all with a hot meal to help with the chilly interior of the Holodeck. Deciding that the room could do with more warmth, the Yeoman walked over to the Holodeck controls and set the room temperature for a nice 27° Celsius. That way the children wouldn't need to be chilly for much longer. The Ensign watched as Dr. Jovic methodically checked over each child, making sure they were doing fine. Jeremy figured it wouldn't be long before another 40 Bajoran refugees would be transported into the Holodeck from the surface, so he wanted to be sure they had nice hot bowls of soup waiting for them.

Dragana and her staff examined all the children closely and they all seemed to have some dehydration and malnutrition issues. But the food Ens McKenna supplied them with would not only help with warming the children up, but aid in both of those ailments. The Doctor looked over at the young Yeoman once all but one of the children were checked over by Dr. Jovic along with her staff and smiled at Jeremy.

Cmdr Jovic: Ensign, it would appear they just have minor cases of dehydration and malnutrition but otherwise, they’re fine. You should report to Captain Calzada regarding the health of the evacuees and let the Captain know you’ve got them eating. You may also want to let Captain Calzada know we’re ready for another batch of refugees from New Bajor.

The Chief Medical Officer waited on the Yeoman to respond to her now that she was finished examining the last child. Dragana also wondered what information Counselor Arrayah got from the children she had been talking to during her time with them. Dr. Jovic was curious to know if there were any adults coming up from the colony soon or if the evacuees were all going to be children.

Jeremy was happy to hear the children would be fine, with only minor cases of dehydration and malnutrition which was being dealt with the Bajoran Alphabet Soup the Ensign made for them all. Looking over towards the Counselor, the Yeoman was curious to know if she learned about the child refugees, because Jeremy knew Capt Calzada would be asking.

Ens McKenna: Thank you, Dr. Jovic. Counselor Arrayah, may I speak with you a moment?

The young Starfleet Officer waited on the Counselor to come over to where he and Dr. Jovic were standing so they could discuss what Counselor Arrayah had learned from the children that beamed up from New Bajor. That way Jeremy could make a full report to Capt Calzada, whom he knew was waiting to hear something from his new Yeoman on the status of the refugees.

Arrayah excused herself from the children as they were enjoying the soup the Yeoman provided for them and elegantly walked over to where Dr. Jovic and Ens McKenna were standing to see why Jeremy asked to speak with her.

Lt. Commander Arrayah: How may I help you, Yeoman McKenna?

Waiting for the Ensign’s response, the Counselor stood there smiling at the young officer and Dr. Jovic. Arrayah presumed Jeremy called her over to discuss what she learned regarding the mental states of the children who seemed to be feeling a massive sense of relief at this time.
