Bridge - Deck 1 - USS Whitestar

As Cole continued doing all that he could to monitor everything going on over aboard the Galactic Princess, the Lieutenant saw that they were being hailed from the USS Eureka! According to Whitestar's database, the California Class vessel had just been recently assigned to Gamma Fleet, and they were currently at New Bajor to assist with the evacuation.

Lt. Mitchell: Captain, we're getting a hail from the USS Eureka, back above New Bajor. Should I put it up on the Main Viewscreen for you, Sir?

The Chief Operations Officer waited on a reply from Capt Daqtorgh if he wanted Cole to put the person calling from Eureka on the Main Viewscreen. According to the sound of the message coming from the California Class Starship, it sounded important. Plus, Lt. Mitchell was curious to know what was happening aboard Eureka that would make them need to contact Capt Daqtorgh here aboard the USS Whitestar.

Daqtorgh was completely unaware of the Starship Eureka and what it would be doing over New Bajor or why they would be calling on assistance from their location. This situation really piqued the Captain’s interest so he called out to the Lieutenant to put the incoming hail on the Main Viewscreen.

Capt Daqtorgh: Put it on screen, Mr. Mitchell. I'm curious why they would be hailing us.

The Captain stood up from his center seat and approached the Main Viewscreen.

Capt Daqtorgh: This is Captain Daqtorgh, Commanding Officer of the USS Whitestar. How can I be of service to you whomever you are? Please identify yourself by rank and position. I don't know how we can help you from our distance, plus we have an Away Team on a close by target of investigation for Xenomorphs.

The CO really wondered what was happening back at New Bajor that would require Whitestar to be contacted by a vessel Daqtorgh didn’t even know existed. But then again, the Captain never heard of the Galactic Princess either before this mission and they desperately needed the assistance of the Akira Class Starship. So Daqtorgh stood on the Bridge and waited on the Main Viewscreen to show who was contacting him.

Watching the Main Viewscreen, Cole could see the Bridge of the USS Eureka and the XO of the California Class vessel standing there in the middle where the Commander could be seen, front and center. Cmdr Sladek spoke directly to Capt Daqtorgh in response to what was asked of Eureka’s First Officer.

Cmdr Sladek: I am Commander Ulric T. Sladek, First Officer of the USS Eureka. By reading Whitestar’s logs, while I was aboard Sutherland, I may have made a discovery. You may have been in contact with someone by the surname Orte. I believe he provided your ship with the manifest from New Bajor’s Spaceport. It’s possible he's related to one of the members of my crew. Do you know where Mr. Orte is now, Captain? I would like to see if I can reunite them. Thank you for whatever assistance you can provide on this matter, Sir.

The Chief Operations Officer knew Cmdr Sladek must be referring to Orte Jerdan, the young male who provided the manifest from the Spaceport located just outside New Rakantha. Cole was sure the Captain would remember where they got the manifest from and would inform the XO of the USS Eureka where to find the Bajoran child. The Lieutenant hoped the crew member aboard the California Class Starship would find solace in hearing from his relative back on the ISSCV at the extraction site.

Daqtorgh thought for a moment about the person they received the manifest from and responded to Cmdr Sladek with what he knew regarding Orte Jerdan.

Capt Daqtorgh: Yes, I may be able to help you Commander. I believe young Mr. Orte Jerdan is with Captain Lopez aboard the I-Double-S-C-V Marine Dropship at the extraction site on New Bajor. You should be able to contact them directly on the standard Marine frequency. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Whitestar out.

The CO returned to his seat on the Bridge and waited to hear more from what’s going on aboard the Galactic Princess. Daqtorgh was happy to help Cmdr Sladek with locating a crew member’s relative. The Klingon Captain just hoped once they spoke, Jerdan had good news for whoever his family member was aboard the California Class vessel.

Mezzanine Area - Galactic Princess

Chase was thrilled to hear that Cmdr Walters passed Dr. Tudismaque’s examination! But there was a lot more people for the Doctor to examine before the transport vessels arrived. The Commander released the Chief Medical Officer to continue checking the passengers and support crew as they slept, this way if anyone had an embryo inside them; Dr. Tudismaque had time to remove it.

Cmdr Ashborn: As you were, Doctor. Continue scanning the passengers and support crew, that way you’ll have time to remove any embryos should you discover them. We’re looking at about forty minutes before the transports arrive. So we don’t have time to waste.

The Commander remained with Cmdr Walters as he instructed Lt. JG Syntranos to go with the Doctor and assist with keeping him safe as the Chief Medical Officer made his way through the mezzanine checking the sleeping passengers and support crew.

Cmdr Ashborn: Go with the Doctor, Darsyn. The transports will be here soon and with these huge windows on the mezzanine, those ships will be noticeable and I’m sure the passengers will wake up seeing them and get excited to leave this place.

The XO wanted to keep the passengers as calm as possible and have them all checked out before the arrival of the vessels that would be coming to remove them from the Hell this pleasure cruise must have turned into. Chase didn’t even want to think about how this could be affecting the children, here to go on a star cruise with Mickey Mouse and Friends only to turn into a nightmare of disastrous proportions.

Darsyn did as Cmdr Ashborn instructed and accompanied Dr. Tudismaque as they continued away from where Cmdr Walters was laying with Whitestar’s XO crouching beside him. Lt. JG Syntranos followed the Doctor and watched as he scanned the sleeping passengers and service crew. If any of them had an embryo inside their chest cavity, Darsyn would assist Dr. Tudismaque out as best he could.

Lt. JG Syntranos: I’ll help you out as best I can, Doctor. I have had some medical triage training at the Academy. I was originally thinking of becoming a Field Medic, but then I got involved with Security and Tactical training. I figured it was a good match, this way if somebody got injured in combat, I could help them out.

The Assistant Sec/Tac Officer walked with Dr. Tudismaque, keeping his weapon slung over his shoulder. There was no immediate need to be pointing his incendiary weapon at the people who were sleeping. Darsyn didn’t want to cause any of them to panic and waking up with a flame thrower in your face could cause somebody to become alarmed. The Lieutenant JG was unsure how long it would take for a Xenomorph to come bursting from someone’s chest, so he did remain cautious as he moved slowly with the Doctor.

Jacques welcomed the assistance of Lt. JG Syntranos as a Field Medic in the current situation they were in here aboard the Galactic Princess. As they slowly and carefully walked through the sleeping passengers and service crew members, Dr. Tudismaque detected that none of them contained a Xenomorph embryo. This was good news, to say the least!

Lt. Tudismaque: I welcome your help, Darsyn. I think it’s great that none of the passengers and service crew that we’ve scanned so far has come up clean. With the amount of time they’ve been in the mezzanine area, if they had an embryo inside them, it would’ve come out by now as far as I can tell. But let’s keep scanning until we’ve cleaned everyone in here that way we’ll know for sure and I can let Commander Ashborn know that I won’t need to setup a surgical bay in here.

Together, the Doctor and the Assistant Sec/Tac Officer continued scanning the sleeping passengers and service crew. Jacques was feeling quite confident that they were not going to find anyone with an embryo inside them, just waiting to burst out of their chest cavities. Since everyone in the mezzanine area was covered up in blankets, and the temperature was set at 10° Celsius, it was not cold enough for any of the people to be suffering from hypothermia. They may not be too comfortable, but they would all survive in here until the transport ships arrived.

As the Commander watched the Doctor and Lt. JG Syntranos walk quietly through the sleeping passengers and service personnel, Chase was curious how soon the transport vessels would be arriving. Since there was no other way to get an update among the officers that accompanied Cmdr Ashborn aboard the Galactic Princess, the Commander called out to Whitestar since his Combadge was already holding an active channel to the Akira Class Starship.

Cmdr Ashborn: Ashborn to Captain Daqtorgh! What’s the update on the transport vessels, Sir? All the passengers and service crew are still asleep with Dr. Tudismaque and Lieutenant Syntranos scanning them for Xenomorph embryos! So far, so good here! We may not need to beam over a triage crew after all!

The XO waited to hear back from Capt Daqtorgh on how much longer they had to wait before the transports arrived to their current location. Chase really hoped the Xenomorphs that were already running amok aboard the Galactic Princess wouldn’t find a way into the mezzanine and start attacking everyone in here. The sooner the transport vessels arrived, the quicker they could get out of here and use a Tractor Beam to bring the Cruise Ship back to SB34 where the base’s Marines could clean out the ship and rescue any stragglers that survived somewhere in hidden pockets of the Galactic Princess.

Bridge - Deck 1 - USS Whitestar

When the Captain heard Cmdr Ashborn call out to him, Daqtorgh quickly rose from his chair and went into action. The first on his list was to get Lt. Mitchell to contact the CO of the lead transport vessel on the Main Viewscreen. That way Capt Daqtorgh could speak directly with the transport ship’s Captain to inquire how long it will take and if they could increase their speed.

Capt Daqtorgh: Mr. Mitchell, how long until those transports from Starbase 34 arrive to our location? See what Warp they’re at and if possible, increase speed by one Warp factor. Put the Captain of the lead transport on the Main Viewscreen.

The Captain continued…this time addressing everyone on the Bridge.

Capt Daqtorgh: Commander Ashborn reached out and asked the ETA and if the transports can increase by one Warp factor they should be able to get here much sooner.

Daqtorgh now spoke to Cmdr Ashborn aboard the Galactic Princess…

Capt Daqtorgh: Commander, we can take more here on Whitestar, prepare me eighty of the refugees and I’ll take on eighty more. Let me know when they’re ready to beam over, you choose the order, highest to lowest or lowest to highest.

Continuing, Daqtorgh looked over at Ens Garcia and presented the young Yeoman with another task.

Capt Daqtorgh: Ensign Garcia, prepare Holodeck Two. Create beds for adults this time, you know the drill.

The CO remained standing on the Bridge, waiting to speak to the Captain of the lead transport vessel. Since Cmdr Cypher was already on the Command Deck, Daqtorgh had plans for him and would be addressing the Chief Engineer who was also the acting XO for the time being. Daqtorgh just wanted to speak to the CO of the lead ship coming to remove the passengers and support staff from the Galactic Princess first, before speaking to Cmdr Cypher.

The Lieutenant heard Capt Daqtorgh request an update on the arrival of the transport vessels, so he used his console to get a fix on their location. Cole already knew he told the Captain earlier that they were moving at maximum speed, so the Lieutenant didn’t know why Capt Daqtorgh would demand they increase their velocity by one more Warp factor. Be that as it may, Lt. Mitchell would report the current ETA and how they were already moving at maximum speed.

Lt. Mitchell: The transport vessels are twenty-two minutes out and they’re still moving at maximum speed, which is Warp Six, Sir. Would you still like me to hail the lead transport so you can demand they increase their velocity by one Warp factor, Captain?

The Chief Operations Officer knew hailing the Captain of the lead transport would be futile, considering they were already moving at their maximum velocity. Even if they could muster another Warp factor, they would end up passing Whitestar as they increased their speed. So they would have to drop out of Warp and turn around and come back to the Akira Class Starship’s location alongside the Galactic Princess. All of which would add more time to the 22 minutes until the transports arrived!
