Bridge - Deck 1 - USS Whitestar

Thom followed the Captain’s orders and immediately instructed Lt. Mitchell to send the message to the lead transport vessel to coordinate their evacuation efforts with Cmdr Ashborn aboard the Galactic Princess.

Cmdr Cypher: Mr. Mitchell, inform the lead transport vessel to coordinate the evacuation of the Galactic Princess with Commander Ashborn. Let them know the Commander is already aboard the Cruise Ship and he’s standing by for their arrival.

As the Lieutenant contacted the lead transport vessel and informed them of who to contact when they arrive, Capt Daqtorgh entered the Bridge. Once the Klingon Captain took his chair, the Chief Engineer filled him in.

Cmdr Cypher: Welcome back to the Bridge, Captain. I’ve instructed Lieutenant Mitchell to contact the lead transport vessel to coordinate with Commander Ashborn aboard the Galactic Princess when they arrive. We haven’t heard back from their Captain just yet, but we should very soon, Sir.

The Acting XO sat beside the CO and waited on Lt. Mitchell to let them know if the Captain of the lead transport acknowledged their instructions on the evacuation of the Cruise Ship. Thom couldn’t wait to return to Main Engineering, being on the Bridge gave him flashbacks of all that happened aboard Event Horizon. The Chief Engineer really hoped he would never be placed in a situation like that again. It was just too stressful for Thom.

Daqtorgh looked over towards the Acting XO to let him know he did an excellent job at his task.

Capt Daqtorgh: You did an excellent job, Thom. Anyone would want you having their back. Thank you for letting Mr. Mitchell know to contact the Captain of the lead transport vessel.

The Captain could tell by Cmdr Cypher’s body language that he was uncomfortable sitting there in the XO’s chair. Perhaps he would feel more comfortable back at his position in Engineering? Leaning over towards the Commander, Daqtorgh whispered to the Chief Engineer.

Capt Daqtorgh: Return to Engineering, if that's where you feel most comfortable and feel it brings out your best. I know what it’s like to be in a position that makes one feel out of their element.

The CO felt that Cmdr Cypher no longer needed to remain on the Bridge since the Captain was back in his chair. Daqtorgh most certainly didn’t want the Chief Engineer being somewhere he didn’t feel comfortable. The Bridge did have an Engineering Station, which was available to Cmdr Cypher whenever he needed to make use of it. The Klingon Captain knew it was just sitting in the XO’s chair that made the Commander so unsettled, so it wasn’t like Thom had a problem being on the Command Deck.

Thom didn’t need to be told he could return to Main Engineering twice! The Commander leaped up from the XO’s chair and thanked Capt Daqtorgh for the kind words and allowing him to return to his duties below decks.

Cmdr Cypher: Thank you for your praise, Captain! You don’t need to tell me twice, I’m outta here! I’ll be down in Main Engineering if I’m needed for anything else!

The Chief Engineer quickly exited the Bridge and took the Turbolift down to Deck 15 where he stepped out of the lift and resumed his journey to the Main Engineering level. Thom approached his Console and gave everything a thorough examination, making sure the Warp Core was operating well within specified parameters. Seeing there were no issues, Cmdr Cypher smiled and thought to himself, It’s good to be back where I belong!

The Lieutenant did as Cmdr Cypher instructed him and contacted the lead transport vessel on their way to the current location of the Galactic Princess and the USS Whitestar, per the Captain’s orders. As soon as Cole sent the message and received an acknowledgement, he informed Capt Daqtorgh since Cmdr Cypher had returned to Engineering.

Lt. Mitchell: I’ve received an acknowledgement from Captain Hernandez of the lead transport ship SS Armitage. She said she’ll contact Commander Ashborn in a matter of minutes. Do you have any further information you’d like me to send to her, Captain?

The Chief Operations Officer waited to hear from Capt Daqtorgh if there was anything else he wanted Cole to send to Capt Hernandez regarding the evacuation procedure for the survivors trapped on the mezzanine of the Galactic Princess. Lt. Mitchell wondered how the new 80 passengers were doing in Holodeck 2. Since there was adults present, they didn’t need someone to watch over them as they relaxed and waited to be brought to SB34.

Daqtorgh thought for a moment and decided that he’d like Capt Hernandez to contact him once she had all the passengers and support crew that they could carry aboard the SS Armitage. Looking over towards the Ops Console, the Captain spoke out the Lt. Mitchell.

Capt Daqtorgh: Mr. Mitchell, please have Captain Hernandez contact me as soon as possible, when all the refugees the Armitage can carry are on board. Please also find out if the Wildcards are available and their status.

The Captain continued by speaking to Lt. Wolf and informing the Chief Sec/Tac Officer that he recommended they go to Yellow Alert so they could protect the transport vessels should the need arise.

Capt Daqtorgh: Mr. Wolf, go to Yellow Alert status as we are in protect mode for the transports so prepare your station.

Daqtorgh also needed to hear how Whitestar was doing, power wise. So the Captain tapped his Combadge and called down to Cmdr Cypher in Main Engineering.

Capt Daqtorgh: Mr. Cypher, I need an Engineering report on our power levels and everything else related to our systems.

The Captain then returned to Lt. Mitchell to give his final instructions on the matter with the situation of the Galactic Princess.

Capt Daqtorgh: Mr. Mitchell, I would also like all your sensor readings. We’re going to make sure these transports get away safe.

The CO looked around the Bridge and waited to hear back from Lt. Mitchell, Lt. Wolf, and Cmdr Cypher announcing their duties have been completed. That way Daqtorgh knew his orders were being followed by the glorious crew of Whitestar. The Captain was quite pleased with his crew thus far and saw no reason to expect any problems with those under his command.

The Lieutenant was a little confused why Capt Daqtorgh wanted to know the status of the Wildcards when they were back on New Bajor. The SA-43X was a sub-light indo-exo atmospheric fighter craft. It would take the Wildcards years to come to the location Whitestar was currently at alongside the Galactic Princess. Perhaps the Klingon Captain was completely unaware of the capabilities of the Hammerhead? Doing as the Captain ordered, he sent the message to Capt Hernandez for her to contact Capt Daqtorgh when the Armitage reached its capacity of refugees. Upon receiving an acknowledgement from the CO of the transport vessel, Cole informed his Captain that his orders were being followed.

Lt. Mitchell: Captain Hernandez acknowledges, Captain. The Wildcards are still above the extraction site on New Bajor, Sir. Since they do not have faster-than-light engines, it would take the 58th Squadron years to reach our location. I’m running continual scans with our sensors on the area and there’s nothing to report at this time. If anything approaches, we’ll know about it immediately, Captain.

The Chief Operations Officer waited to hear if there was anything else Capt Daqtorgh needed him to do while they waited on the transport vessels to arrive. Cole knew it wouldn’t be long before they would be contacting Cmdr Ashborn aboard the Galactic Princess to make arrangements to beam the passengers and support crew over to safety. Lt. Mitchell wondered when all the people were safely aboard the transports would Whitestar be using the Tractor Beam to tow the Cruise Ship to SB34? Cole checked and made sure there was plenty of power available for the Akira Class Starship to be able to take on the daunting task, so when the time came, Whitestar had all the power it needed.

Kyle did what Capt Daqtorgh ordered and readied his station for Yellow Alert by energizing the Defensive Shields around sensitive areas of the Akira Class vessel, such as the Bridge and Engineering. The weapon systems were also standing by to be powered up should the need arise to use them. Once all the systems on his console appeared to be in the Yellow, the Lieutenant informed the Captain of the status of Whitestar.

Lt. Wolf: The ship is now at Alert Condition Yellow, Captain!

The Chief Sec/Tac Officer looked around the Bridge and could see the yellow indication lights blinking to alert everyone at their Stations that Whitestar was currently at Yellow Alert. If need be, Kyle was ready to bring the Main Shields, along with the Phasers and the Torpedo Bays online in a moment’s notice. The Lieutenant watched over his console to make sure all the power he needed was fully available from Lt. Mitchell at the Ops Station, and it was...in abundance!

Main Engineering - Deck 15

Thom heard Capt Daqtorgh over his Combadge and took a survey of all the power levels and related systems. Cmdr Cypher saw that everything was working like a well oiled Swiss clock and purring like a kitten, the Commander responded to the Captain on the Bridge from his console there in Main Engineering.

Cmdr Cypher: Cypher to Captain Daqtorgh! All power levels are in the green and all systems are standing by. The Warp Core is operating like a well lubricated time piece, purring like a kitten, it is!

The Chief Engineer hoped his Klingon Captain understood what Thom said meant that everything in Main Engineering was operating well within specified parameters. Since they weren’t using the Warp Drive or Impulse Engines at this time, Whitestar literally had a surplus of power stored up. Even with the Defensive Shields active, the amount of power being used for them was negligible.

Bridge - Deck 1

Daqtorgh looked at Lt. Mitchell and nobody else as he sat back in the center seat, while waiting to hear from Cmdr Ashborn of the transports arrival and the transfer of passengers from the Galactic Princess had begun.

Capt Daqtorgh: Understood, Mr. Mitchell. Thank you for the update on the Wildcards. In the meantime, continue your scans as we wait, holding our breaths the transfer goes smoothly. Hoping there are no pop-up intruders looking to take advantage of situation.

The Captain continued as he gave the Lieutenant a wink…

Capt Daqtorgh: Mr. Mitchell, you’re doing a great job.

A moment later, Daqtorgh heard Lt. Wolf's report as the illuminators around the Bridge turned the color of Yellow Alert.

Capt Daqtorgh: Thank you for that, Mr. Wolf. Glad your station is operating at its peak.

The Captain smiled as he sat in his CO’s chair after hearing Cmdr Cypher’s report. Daqtorgh was glad to hear they’re not chewing up power and continued smiling when he heard the Commander use the term purring like a kitten. The Klingon Captain recognized the term as one of many he’s heard before. While the CO remained in his Captain’s seat he looked to his left and winked towards the young Ens Garcia. Daqtorgh loved it when his ship was running like an efficient machine.

Mezzanine Area - Galactic Princess

Chase was happy to overhear from the Bridge of Whitestar that the transports were only a short time away. Using hand gestures, the Commander let the rest of the boarding party know they would be waking the passengers and support crew from their slumber to beam over to the ships coming to evacuate them from the Galactic Princess. After a few minutes passed, from outside the large bay windows of the mezzanine, the transports appeared! Within a moment, Chase’s Combadge chirped from the incoming transmission from the CO of the SS Armitage, Capt Laci Hernandez.

Capt Hernandez: This is Captain Laci Hernandez of the SS Armitage to Commander Ashborn aboard the Galactic Princess! We are here to assist with the evacuation of the Cruise Ship! We’re standing by to beam out the passengers as soon as you give the word, Commander!

The Commander had a beaming smile on his face as he gestured to the other members of the boarding party once again, but this time it was to wake them and get them prepared to beam over to the SS Armitage, and the other transports that arrived with Capt Hernandez. Chase tapped his Combadge to respond to the transport Captain…

Cmdr Ashborn: Captain Hernandez, Ashborn here! We’re getting the passengers and support crew ready to beam over right now! I’ll contact you once again when you can start the transporting process!

Standing up on a chair Chase addressed the awakening crowd, so they could all see who was speaking to them.

Cmdr Ashborn: May I have your attention, please! I am Commander Chase Ashborn, First Officer of the USS Whitestar! We are here to assist in the evacuation of the Galactic Princess! If you can collect your children and come over to the clearing, I will contact the Captain of the transport ship Armitage and have you beamed out of here! Now move in a calm and collected fashion!

The passengers did as the Commander told them and moved calmly to the area designated for beaming from the mezzanine to the safety aboard the transports. Once there was about 200 people waiting to beam away, Chase contacted Capt Hernandez to let her know the first group was ready to depart.

Cmdr Ashborn: Captain Hernandez, I’ve got the first group of two hundred ready to go! They’re at coordinates three, two, six, by three, eight, two, seven! The word is given! Energize when ready!

Capt Hernandez: Understood, Commander Ashborn! Energizing now!

A few moments later, the entire group of 200 passengers beamed away. This process continued until all the passengers and support crew had been evacuated from the Galactic Princess to the SS Armitage and the other transport vessels alongside the large cruise ship. Chase was feeling very happy that all went well, that was until they all heard banging at the ventilation coverings! Looking over towards Cmdr Skonch, the XO gestured for the Vulcan Science Officer to scan the area of the ventilation shafts to see if he could find out if those were other survivors trying to gain access to the mezzanine area or something far more nefarious!
